In Home Assistant, add this repository as a custom one in HACS, install SmartChain, add the integration with the GigaChat or YandexGPT provider, and create a conversation agent from the SmartChain AI sidebar panel.

What it does
This is not an MCP server or a skill for a coding agent, but a Home Assistant extension (installed via HACS) that turns your home's voice assistant into an LLM-backed conversational agent. It supports 11 providers, including GigaChat and YandexGPT alongside OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Ollama and others, each configured as a separate connection with its own API key. It can call Home Assistant tools (lights, locks, climate) via the Assist API, connect to external MCP servers as a client, keep long-term memory on pluggable vector backends, analyze camera snapshots with a multimodal model, and runs through a sidebar panel with tabs for agents, embeddings, stores and tools.
Who it is for. For Home Assistant smart-home owners who want a voice assistant on GigaChat or YandexGPT instead of foreign cloud LLMs.

Requires Home Assistant 2025.7.0+ and HACS. GigaChat and YandexGPT are just two of 11 providers; most of the rest (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Groq, Together) are not Russian. Embeddings (for memory and entity indexing) are available from GigaChat, YandexGPT, OpenAI, Ollama, Together and local servers, but not from OpenRouter or Groq.
How to disable. Remove the SmartChain integration via Settings → Devices & Services in Home Assistant, then remove the repository from HACS.

Is this an MCP server?
No, it's a Home Assistant integration. It has an MCP client to connect external MCP servers, but it is not itself an MCP server for Claude Code or Cursor.
Can I use only GigaChat and YandexGPT, without foreign providers?
Yes, each provider is a separate connection; you simply don't add the ones you don't want.
