What it does

The skill lets Claude and Codex work with Korean Hangul Word Processor documents in two formats: the binary hwp and the zip-based hwpx. It reads content and tables, creates new files and edits existing ones in their original format, so layout does not break. It covers text and paragraph styling, tables, inserting images, shapes, charts, equations, footnotes, headers and footers and seals, plus themes that set color, font and chart palette at once. It is built on the rhwp WebAssembly engine, so no separate Hancom program is needed. A secure fill mode handles forms with personal data so that values never enter the model context.

Who it is for. For people who work with Korean hwp documents often: company staff, civil servants, authors of reports and contracts.

Good fit when

  • You need to read or extract data from an hwp or hwpx file
  • You need to create or edit a Korean document without Hancom Office
  • You need to fill a Korean form while keeping the original format

Not a fit when

  • You are working with Word docx files, which have a separate skill
  • You need features the skill marks as not yet available, such as PDF export

Limitations

Some features are marked as not yet ready, such as PDF and docx export or a page border. Secure fill protects the model context, but inside a sandbox plaintext personal data briefly lives on the filesystem, and the resulting document itself contains that data. The skill installs as a plugin from the repository for Claude Code or Codex.

How to disable. Remove the claw-hwp plugin via claude plugin or codex plugin, or delete the plugin folder from the directory.

FAQ

Do I need Hancom Office?

No. The rhwp WebAssembly engine reads and edits hwp and hwpx without a separate program, and files open in Hancom Office and the web version without distortion.

What about personal data in forms?

There is a secure fill mode: values are read inside the tool and never enter the model context. The resulting document still contains that data itself.
