genart
A generative art skill for Claude Code: deterministic hash-seeded sketches, traits and rarity, export for screens, print and plotters
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.
Why this level
- It runs Node.js scripts and creates image files in the project
- The agent writes and runs sketch code
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/genartDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.

Install the plugin: /plugin marketplace add camilleroux/genart-skill, then /plugin install genart@camilleroux-genart. After that just describe the sketch or invoke /genart.
Other ways from the author
/plugin marketplace add camilleroux/genart-skill
/plugin install genart@camilleroux-genartAfter install the skill loads on its own or is invoked via /genart.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The skill gives the agent working knowledge of long-form generative art. It teaches seeding a random-number generator from a token hash, rendering the same composition at any resolution, designing traits and rarity tables, signaling preview capture and exporting for print and pen plotters. It covers Canvas 2D, p5.js, three.js and SVG, and several onchain platforms. It ships runnable scripts that check a sketch's determinism and render individual seeds and contact sheets.
Who it is for. For generative artists and creative coders who use the agent as a studio assistant.
Good fit when
- You are writing a long-form generative sketch for an onchain platform
- You need to check a piece's determinism before release
- You are designing traits and a rarity table for an edition
Not a fit when
- The task is not about generative art and creative coding
- You need a ready graphics editor rather than working through code
- You do not work with onchain art or screen diffusion platforms
Example request
Check my sketch for determinism and render a contact sheet of fifty seedsLimitations
The skill is aimed at Claude Code. The runnable scripts work on Node.js and create image files; they check determinism but do not guarantee an artistic result. The ethics section stresses authorship, attribution and disclosure of the AI's role. MIT licensed.
How to disable. Uninstall the genart plugin through the plugin manager or remove its marketplace from settings.
Security check
- It runs Node.js scripts and creates image files in the project
- The agent writes and runs sketch code
README in short
The README presents a Claude Code skill for long-form generative art: hash determinism, rendering at any resolution, traits and rarity, export for print and plotters, and the field's ethics. The skill is written by an artist and treats the AI as a studio assistant, not the author. Install goes through the Claude Code marketplace, and the skill loads on its own or via a command. It ships two Node.js scripts to check determinism and render seeds and contact sheets. MIT licensed.

FAQ
Which platforms are supported?
The references cover Art Blocks, 256ART, Verse, Highlight, Plottables, bootloader.art, self-hosting and the screen platform Artpoint.
What are the scripts for?
They render individual seeds and contact sheets and verify that a sketch is truly deterministic before release.
