Godogen
Autonomous game development for Godot, Bevy and Babylon.js: the agent writes code, generates assets, runs the engine and judges the result from the game
High risk
We rate an entry high when the tool writes to external systems, handles money, production databases or secrets, or runs arbitrary commands. The CLI installs it only with your consent.
Why this level
- Runs game engines, builds and browser capture on your host
- Calls paid generation APIs and spends credits
- Executes generated project code
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/godogenDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.

Clone godogen and publish a game repository: git clone https://github.com/htdt/godogen, then ./publish.sh --engine godot --agent claude --out ~/my-game. Install the engines and system packages per setup.md and set GOOGLE_API_KEY, XAI_API_KEY, TRIPO3D_API_KEY.
Other ways from the author
git clone https://github.com/htdt/godogen
cd godogen
./publish.sh --engine godot --agent claude --out ~/my-gamepublish.sh renders a thin game repository for the chosen engine (godot, bevy, babylon) and agent (claude or codex); the agent then works inside that repository. Requires the engines, Python 3.10+, the system packages from setup.md and paid API keys.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
Godogen is a generator from which the agent publishes a separate game repository and builds a game there for Godot 4, Bevy or Babylon.js. From a short description the agent writes the project code, generates assets, runs the engine and judges the result from the running game rather than a clean build. Assets come from external services: images via Gemini and xAI Grok, 3D models and rigging via Tripo3D, animated sprites via Grok video with loop trimming and background removal. You can watch the game live and steer at decision points, or leave the run unattended and get a short proof recording. The engine and host agent (Claude Code or Codex) are chosen at publish time with publish.sh.
Who it is for. For developers and game designers who want the agent to build a playable prototype in Godot, Bevy or Babylon.js.
Good fit when
- You need a quick game prototype on one of the three engines
- You need automatic generation of game assets, 3D models and sprites
- You want the agent to run the engine and judge the result from the image
Not a fit when
- You have no access to the paid generation APIs or the required engines
- You have no VPN for Google and xAI from Russia
- You need manual polishing of a finished game rather than generation from scratch
Example request
Build a small Godot platformer and record a short proof videoLimitations
Requires installed engines (Godot .NET, Rust with Cargo, Node.js), Python 3.10+, system packages (xvfb, ffmpeg, imagemagick, vulkan-tools) and paid keys for Google Gemini, xAI Grok and Tripo3D. Google AI Studio and xAI are not reachable from Russia without a VPN. Asset generation costs money per call. A full run can take hours and is best on a GPU server. Tested on Ubuntu, Debian and macOS.
How to disable. Godogen works per project: delete the published game repository or its .claude/skills/asset-gen folder. Remove the API keys from your environment.
Security check
- Runs game engines, builds and browser capture on your host
- Calls paid generation APIs and spends credits
- Executes generated project code
README in short
The README describes godogen as a generator, not a game: publish.sh sets up a thin repository with a runtime manifest, a one-page engine guide and the asset-generation skill, and the agent recreates the rest. It supports Godot 4 in C# and .NET, Bevy in Rust and Babylon.js in TypeScript. Assets come from Gemini, xAI Grok and Tripo3D, sprites from video with loop trimming and background removal. The agent judges the result from the running game or a recording rather than a clean build. There is a server mode that keeps the session alive with tmux and uses remote control. MIT licensed.

# Asset Generator
Generate PNG images (Gemini or xAI Grok) and GLB 3D models (Tripo3D) from text prompts. These are paid APIs — every call costs real money. Tools live at `${ASSET_GEN_SKILL_DIR}/tools/`; run from the project root and keep runtime-loaded outputs under `${RUNTIME_ASSET_DIR}/`.FAQ
Is this a finished game?
No. It is a generator: publish.sh sets up a thin game repository for the chosen engine, and the agent builds the game inside it from a short guide.
Do I have to watch the run?
No. You can steer at decision points live, or leave the run unattended and get a short proof recording at the end.
