What it does
The skill teaches an agent to work with the Kling AI CLI. According to the skill's own description it covers images from text and from a reference, video from text and from an image, reusable elements (characters and objects), motion control, uploading local files to Kling and polling a task by its generationId. The skill generates nothing by itself: it gives the agent instructions and examples, and the work is done by the CLI signed in to your Kling account.
Who it is for. For people who make clips and images in Kling and want to run them from an agent: you need recurring characters, motion control and task launches from the work chat.
Good fit when
- You need the same character or object across several clips
- You need to control the motion in the frame, not only describe the scene in text
- You need to upload local files to Kling and launch a task from the chat
Not a fit when
- You want a connection without installing programs: the remote Kling MCP server by address is simpler
- You cannot send local files and descriptions to the Kling service
Example request
Create an element from this hero photo and make a five-second clip where he walks along a snowy streetLimitations
The CLI Kling is required; the skill does not replace it. There are two packages by account region: the global @klingai/cli-global fits a kling.ai account, and the Chinese @klingai/cli-cn is for klingai.com. Every generation spends Kling credits, and local files are sent to Kling when uploaded. The skill explicitly forbids sign-in by cookie, token or an AK and SK pair: sign in only through the browser. Skill installation is listed from exactly this repository on the Kling page kling.ai/app/cli, and the klingai-tech GitHub account belongs to an ordinary user with no confirmed organization. Version 0.2.0, Node.js 18 or newer is required. Part of SKILL.md is written in Chinese and English.
How to disable. Remove the skill from the agent's skills folder, sign out of Kling in the CLI and revoke the app's access in the Kling account settings. The CLI itself is removed with npm uninstall -g @klingai/cli-global.
FAQ
How is the skill different from the Kling MCP server?
The skill works through the Kling command-line tool and adds elements, motion control and file upload. The MCP server connects by address and does four basic operations. The vendor itself calls the CLI the more stable option.
How do I sign in to Kling?
With kling login: it opens the browser for OAuth sign-in. The skill forbids sign-in by cookie, token or keys.
Which CLI package should I install?
For a kling.ai account, the global @klingai/cli-global. The Chinese @klingai/cli-cn is for klingai.com.
How do I check that everything works?
Run kling tool_list: the command lists the available tools.
