What it does
Mingli Master is a skill for reading a birth chart in the Chinese Zi Wei Dou Shu system. The user gives a birth date in the solar or lunar calendar, the two-hour birth period and gender. The agent runs the calculate_chart.py script built on the iztro-py library: figures such as palace positions, stars and the four transformations come from code and are not computed by the model. The author explains that a language model makes mistakes when calculating a chart. The second part, the gezhi_rules.py script, also follows fixed rules. It identifies the star pattern in the main palace (for example, Sha Po Lang) and rates tolerance of uncertainty, resilience to swings and decisiveness on three scales from 1 to 5. Into empty palaces it substitutes stars from the opposite palace with discount factors of 0.7 and 0.5. With the `--year` option it builds a table of yearly pressure: for each palace it adds up the scores of the harmful transformations of the year, the ten-year cycle and the birth year. The language model writes only the reading text: character foundation, career, money, relationships, the current ten-year cycle and the next few years. A cross-check with a palm photo can be added on request. The result is assembled into an HTML page with two visual themes, a golden Collector and a glowing Cyber one, and the choice is remembered in the browser. The skill includes a set of clarifying questions for checking the birth time. All skill texts and reference files are in Chinese.
Who it is for. For people interested in Chinese astrology who read Chinese: they want an accurate birth chart without a model's arithmetic mistakes and a tidy report to keep.
Good fit when
- You need a Zi Wei Dou Shu birth chart calculated by a script

- You do not read Chinese: the skill's instructions, star references and report style are written in Chinese
- You need a calculation in another system, such as Western astrology: the skill calculates charts only by Zi Wei Dou Shu
- You need a forecast for decisions about health, money or hiring: the author calls the reading a map of probabilities and does not suggest relying on it
- Python packages cannot be installed into the environment where the agent runs: the calculation needs the iztro-py library

The skill does not predict: the author calls the reading a map of probabilities and bans predicting death, scaring people and replacing a person's decisions.
Calculation requires the iztro-py library version 0.5.0 or newer. The author suggests installing it with a command using the `--break-system-packages` flag, which lifts system Python protection, so a separate environment is the wiser choice.
The V2 section of the README lists fixed errors of the previous version. For example, in the table of harmful transformations three of the ten heavenly stems used stars of the income transformation, which shifted pressure scores for some years. After the fix the author cross-checked the calculation through iztro on three years. The project is maintained as a hobby with no promise of update timing. MIT license.
How to disable. Delete the skill folder: `rm -rf ~/.claude/skills/mingli-master` for Claude Code, or the matching folder in ~/.codex/skills or ~/.cursor/skills for other agents. If you installed with `npx skills add`, remove the skill with the same manager. `python3 -m pip uninstall iztro-py` removes the library.

Why is the calculation moved into a script?

What data does the skill need?
A birth date marked as lunar or solar, the two-hour period and gender are required. Birthplace for true solar time correction and a palm photo are optional.
How do I choose the year for the pressure table?
With the `--year` option, for example `--year 2027`. Without it the current year is used. The table adds up harmful transformations of the year, the ten-year cycle and the birth year for each palace, and scores from 1.5 and from 2.5 mark a warning and high pressure.
Does the skill work outside Claude Code?
The author lists Claude Code, Codex CLI and Cursor with install paths in ~/.claude/skills, ~/.codex/skills and ~/.cursor/skills. If an environment does not load skills itself, the SKILL.md content can be pasted into the conversation as plain text.
What if the birth time is not known exactly?
The skill has a bank of clarifying questions in calibration.py with priorities and a table of adjustments by answer. The agent uses it to check the hour and correct the output.
