What it does
Openapi is a European marketplace of certified APIs, and this repository holds 11 skills for it. The openapi-auth skill creates and renews OAuth v2 tokens and shows available scopes, wallet balance and call statistics. The other skills get their token through it. The remaining skills split by task. openapi-company looks up companies by VAT number, tax code or name in Italy, Europe and worldwide, and returns shareholders and beneficial owners. openapi-documents orders chamber of commerce extracts, balance sheets and DURC certificates. openapi-risk returns credit scores, CRIF reports and KYC results. openapi-trust validates emails, phones, IPs, URLs, PEC addresses, tax codes and vehicle plates. Five more skills cover geocoding and the land registry, SMS, PEC and paper mail through Poste Italiane, eIDAS signatures with qualified time stamps, e-invoices through SDI and vehicle data by plate. openapi-utilities collects exchange rates, HTML-to-PDF conversion, .it domains and managed RAG.
Who it is for. Developers and analysts building counterparty checks, electronic document flows or messaging for Italian and European business.
Good fit when
- An agent checks an Italian counterparty by VAT number and gets core data, shareholders and beneficial owners at once
- A service runs KYC on a client and the code needs credit scores and CRIF reports
- A script sends PEC messages, SMS or paper letters through Poste Italiane
- You need to issue an e-invoice for SDI or collect signatures under eIDAS
- A real estate deal needs cadastral data and a property valuation
Not a fit when
- Counterparties in Russia and the CIS: the skills cover Italian and European registers plus a worldwide lookup, and no Russian sources are among them
- Free lookups without an account: calls are paid from a wallet or a subscription, and only some quotas and the sandbox are free
- A task about the OpenAPI format for describing REST APIs: the word in the name refers to the marketplace company
Example request
Check the Italian counterparty by the VAT number from the contract: company data, shareholders, beneficial owners and the PEC address.Limitations
Every call is paid: the cost comes out of a wallet or a monthly or annual subscription. The openapi-auth skill checks the balance before expensive requests. A sandbox with illustrative responses has to be enabled separately in the console.
You need an Openapi account and an API key: set OPENAPI_EMAIL and OPENAPI_API_KEY in the environment, or a ready OPENAPI_TOKEN. The skills are written in English and rely mostly on Italian registers and services such as SDI and PEC. The repository is at version 0.1.0. The generic npx skills add command installs all 11 skills at once.
How to disable. Delete the openapi-* folders from the agent's skills directory and revoke the API key in the Openapi console. Tokens with a short lifetime expire on their own.
FAQ
How much do Openapi requests cost?
The repository lists no prices. Calls are charged to a wallet per request or covered by a subscription: monthly for 30 days with no rollover, or annual for 365 days. openapi-auth shows the balance; see the Openapi console for rates.
How do I restrict a token's scopes?
Ask openapi-auth only for the scopes you need, in the method:host/path format such as GET:company.openapi.com/IT-start, with a short lifetime. The maximum token lifetime is one year.
Can I try it without spending money?
Yes, through the sandbox: test companies are listed in the Openapi documentation. Sandbox credit has to be enabled in the console first, and responses there are illustrative, not real data.
Does the set work in Cursor and Codex?
The skills are SKILL.md files, and they run in Claude Code and any compatible agent. Cursor and Codex were not tested separately for this card.
Which skills are in the set?
Eleven: openapi-auth, openapi-company, openapi-documents, openapi-risk, openapi-trust, openapi-geo, openapi-messaging, openapi-esignature, openapi-invoicing, openapi-automotive and openapi-utilities. openapi-auth is required by all the others because it issues the token.
