What it does

Awesome Apify Skills is an Apify repository with a collection of skills written by community members. It complements apify/agent-skills, which holds the skills Apify maintains itself. Each skill in the skills/ folder is a separate SKILL.md that tells the agent which Apify Actor to take for a task, how to build the input and what to do on errors. The tasks vary: ad analysis across Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn, tracking brand mentions in AI search answers, App Store and Google Play data, Ashby jobs, leads from Google Maps and Booking.com, scoring and enriching lead lists, finding verified emails, Reddit extraction, triage of blocked scraping, and Yandex search and image search. Some skills route to paid Actors built by the skill authors themselves and say so in a disclosure section, as the Reddit skill does.

Who it is for. For marketers, sales people and analysts who collect web data through Apify and want the agent to pick the Actor and build the request itself.

Good fit when

  • You need to find mentions of a brand or competitors on Reddit over a period and pull comments with threads
  • You want leads from Google Maps or Booking.com with contacts and an enriched list before outreach
  • You want to compare competitor ads across the Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn libraries
  • You need Yandex search results and image search results through Apify
  • A scraper returns 403, 429 or empty pages and you need to find the cause in order from cheap checks to expensive ones

Not a fit when

  • You only want the official Apify skills: they live in the neighbouring apify/agent-skills repository
  • You need posting or replying on social networks: the Reddit skill, for example, only reads data
  • You want to avoid paid services: many Actors are billed, and for some skills the Actor was built by the skill author
  • You need a uniform level of quality: different authors write the skills and each one has its own disclosure section

Example request

Find Reddit posts from the last month where people ask for a Notion alternative, pull the comments and show what people write most often

Limitations

An Apify account is required. The Reddit skill lists sign-in options: apify login, the APIFY_TOKEN variable or a token from the Apify console, plus the Apify CLI or the Apify MCP server. According to the skill, the free plan covers small runs, but Actors are billed differently and some charge per result.

Quality and coverage depend on the author of each skill. The README calls the collection community-driven, so read SKILL.md and the disclosure section before running.

How to disable. Delete the apify-* skill folders from the agent skills directory. Revoke the Apify token in the Apify console under integrations in settings.

FAQ

How do I install the Apify skills in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add apify/awesome-skills. The --list flag shows the skills before installing and -s <name> installs one. The collection works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, OpenCode and dozens of other agents from the skills.sh directory.

How is Awesome Apify Skills different from apify/agent-skills?

apify/agent-skills holds the skills Apify maintains itself, while this repository collects community contributions under the same open agentskills.io standard. The official set has its own catalog entry.

Do I need a paid Apify plan to use the skills?

You need an Apify account. The Reddit skill says the free plan covers small runs, but the Actor it routes to is paid and billed per result. Terms differ per skill, so check the price in its SKILL.md.

Does the collection have skills for Russian services?

Yes: apify-yandex-search-api and apify-yandex-image-search-api, which run Yandex search and image search through Apify Actors.

What if a scraper gets blocked?

The apify-blocked-scrape-triage skill works through 403, 429, challenge pages and empty responses in ascending order of cost: a cheaper published source first, then reachability, request rate and IP spread, then session tokens, the site internal API and the browser last.

README in short

The description presents the collection as community work and links to the official Apify skills repository. It explains that a skill is a SKILL.md file with a front-matter description saying which Actors to use and how to build the input. It goes on to the install command with flags, a table of all skills with author names, a section on contributing, hints for AI agents and support contacts.

Scrape Reddit with the harshmaur/reddit-scraper Apify Actor: keyword search across all of Reddit
or inside one subreddit, full subreddit listings, post permalinks with complete comment threads,
user profiles and community info, with date-range filters and optional delivery of results into
Slack, Notion, Google Sheets or Airtable through Apify MCP connectors. Use when the user says
"monitor my brand on Reddit", "find leads on Reddit", "what is Reddit saying about X", "scrape
r/<subreddit>", "pull all comments from this Reddit thread", "Reddit posts about X since <date>",
  "track competitor mentions on Reddit", "Reddit sentiment for X" (labels are a paid add-on;
otherwise quote the body), "build a Reddit dataset", "scrape a Reddit user's history", or any
request for Reddit posts, comments, subreddits or users as structured data. No Reddit API key
or login is needed. Out of scope: posting or replying on Reddit, private or quarantined
communities, and semantic/topic search (Reddit search is literal).

# Reddit Scraper

Turn a plain-language Reddit request into one run of `harshmaur/reddit-scraper` and hand back structured posts, comments, users or communities. One Actor covers search, subreddit listings, permalinks, user profiles and community metadata, so routing is about picking the right **input field**, not the right Actor.

Disclosure: the Actor this skill routes to is paid (pay per result) and built by the skill author. Links carry no affiliate parameters.

## Example prompts

Prompts this skill handles:

- "Find every Reddit post from the last 30 days where someone asks for a Notion alternative, and pull the comments."
- "Scrape the newest 200 posts in r/SaaS and r/startups."
- "Give me all comments on this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/comments/abc123/..."
- "Track mentions of `Linear` and `Jira` on Reddit since 2026-08-01 and send each hit to my Slack channel."
- "What has u/spez posted recently?"

Out of scope (the boundary):

- "Post a reply in r/startups" — this Actor only reads Reddit. Use the Reddit API with the user's own account.
- "Find Reddit threads *about* the pain of managing invoices" — Reddit search is literal keyword matching, not semantic. Expand the topic into 3–8 short literal keywords first (see Step 1), then run one search per keyword.

## Prerequisites

- Apify account ([sign up](https://apify.com)); the free plan covers small runs.
