What it does
SoloPi from Alipay is a set for automating and checking mobile apps with an agent. The repository has two modules: `solopi-app` for an Android device (record and replay, page observation, assertions, performance and network capture) and `solopi-skill`, an agent entry point with a helper program on the host. The agent calls the typed `solopi-ai` command instead of hand-building ADB requests. It builds a verification plan from requirements, runs templates, separates execution from independent acceptance and writes a report with screenshots. The app under test needs no SDK; runs go through ADB and a controlled protocol.
Who it is for. Mobile QA engineers who need a reproducible run on a live Android device with a report for CI.
Good fit when
- Requirements must be turned into a verification plan and run on a phone.
- A scenario is recorded on one device and replayed on another.
- An acceptance report needs a screenshot of every step.
- Several devices are checked in one CI run.
Not a fit when
- You need iOS, because the open implementation targets Android.
- The device cannot be connected over ADB.
- Checks run only in an emulator with no real phone.
Example request
Check the sign-in screen on the connected device from this requirement text and attach a report with screenshots.Limitations
The open implementation runs on Android only, with no iOS support. It needs ADB, USB debugging and Python 3.9 or newer; run `solopi-ai doctor` before device commands. Wireless debugging with `adb tcpip 5555` opens a port on the phone, so use it only on a trusted network. The skill does not bypass device safety boundaries, and the documentation and UI are mostly Chinese. Laya weights, the APK and run evidence are not bundled.
How to disable. Remove the `solopi-skill` folder from the skills directory, uninstall the SoloPi app from the device and turn ADB debugging off.
FAQ
Where do I start?
Connect the device, allow USB debugging and run `solopi-ai --pretty doctor`. It shows what is missing for working with the phone.
Does the app under test change?
No. No agent SDK is embedded and the code stays as it is.
Is iOS supported?
No. The open version is Android only.
What can be done without a device?
Commands such as `actions`, templates and plan compilation run locally with no phone.
What license does SoloPi use?
Apache-2.0, according to GitHub. A separate license also sits in the `solopi-skill` folder.
