What it does
The skill `directing-stickman-videos` turns a topic, notes or an article into a stick-figure video. The work runs in two phases. First the agent builds a director's proposal: English narration with a reference translation in your language, scenes, camera moves and sound. It writes no prompts until you approve the proposal. After approval it produces standalone prompts for ten-second Gemini Omni Flash clips, plus advice on transitions, stitching and subtitles. Before starting the agent requires three settings: aspect ratio `16:9` or `9:16`, a duration in multiples of ten seconds (60 by default, so six clips) and a style. If something is missing it asks for everything in one message. There are four styles: black-and-white minimalism on a light or dark canvas, a modern look with a red beanie in two variants (a tech studio or colored scenes), prehistoric dark comedy and cozy storytelling with colored settings. The narrative follows a five-stage structure from an opening hook to a closing discussion. The skill calls no API and connects no MCP. You generate the video in Flow or another service and do subtitles and editing in an editor such as CapCut.
Who it is for. For makers of short educational and motivational videos for YouTube and TikTok who want a consistent style and ready prompts instead of hand-tuning wording.
Good fit when
- You need a 60-second explainer with stick figures on a topic or article, such as habits or a tool
- You make a series of vertical `9:16` videos and want one style and a consistent character across clips
- You want a humorous story in the prehistoric dark comedy style with a twist ending
- The script has to be agreed with a client before clips are generated: the skill stops at the proposal until you approve
- You need a long video of three to five minutes: duration is set in multiples of ten seconds
Not a fit when
- You need a finished video file: the skill writes the script and prompts and renders nothing itself
- You want styles beyond the four shipped ones: the set is built around stick figures in those styles
- You need Russian voice-over: the narration in the proposal is written in English and your language appears as a reference
- Gemini Omni Flash does not suit you: the prompts follow its format
Example request
Make a stickman video about why we procrastinate. 9:16, style 2A, 30 seconds. Show me the proposal firstLimitations
- The skill prepares text and prompts. The clips themselves are made in Flow or another service with Gemini Omni Flash, and subtitles and editing happen in an editor such as CapCut.
- The narration in the proposal is always English; a translation into your language is given for reading only.
- The skill does not proceed without answers: if aspect ratio and style are missing it stops and asks. Citing urgency or asking for default settings does not skip that step.
- After any change to ratio, duration, style or scene structure the proposal has to be approved again; approval of an older draft does not count.
- Duration is rounded to the nearest multiple of ten seconds.
- The README and style descriptions are written in Chinese, with translations into English, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese and no Russian.
How to disable. Delete the `directing-stickman-videos` folder from your agent's skills directory, for example `~/.claude/skills/` or the project's `.claude/skills/`. The skill leaves no background processes or settings.
FAQ
How do I install Stickman Video Director in Claude Code?
Send your agent a request to install this skill with the repository link `github.com/kaomei/stickman-video-director`, as the author suggests. To do it by hand, copy the `skills/directing-stickman-videos` folder into `~/.claude/skills/`.
Which video styles does the skill have?
Four: classic black-and-white (light or dark canvas), modern with a red beanie and yellow T-shirt in variants 2A and 2B, prehistoric hand-drawn dark comedy and a cozy style with colored everyday scenes. That makes six visual options in all.
How do I make a vertical video for TikTok?
Choose `9:16` during setup. The skill reworks composition and angles for a vertical frame. Pick `16:9` for horizontal video.
Why did the skill stop and generate nothing?
It is waiting for the setup items: aspect ratio, style and optionally duration. It does not continue until they are named. After the proposal it also waits for your approval and only then writes the clip prompts.
What does the skill produce?
First a director's proposal: English narration, a reference translation, scenes, camera and sound. After approval it adds standalone prompts for ten-second Gemini Omni Flash clips and notes on transitions, stitching and subtitles.

README in short
The front page shows the four styles with animated previews and says which topics each suits. A table follows listing what the skill prepares (copy, visuals, continuity, framing, revisions), a description of the output and three steps to start: install by asking the agent, give a topic, approve the proposal. The rest of the page holds updates and sample finished videos.

# Directing Stickman Videos
## Core contract
Turn one source into a confirmed director's proposal and then N standalone prompts for approximately ten-second Gemini Omni Flash clips (where N = target duration in seconds / 10; default 6 clips for 60 seconds). Preserve the source's meaning while structuring it through a high-completion 5-stage emotional narrative arc.
## Setup gate
Require these before planning:
- source material
- aspect ratio: `16:9` or `9:16`
- target duration: in multiples of 10 seconds (e.g. `30s`, `60s`, `90s`, `3min`, `5min`; default: `60s` / 6 clips if unspecified)
- visual style and theme:
- `Style 1 (Classic Minimalist)`: light (white background, black figure) or dark (black background, white figure)
- `Style 2 (Modern Beanie Zeke)`:
- `Style 2A (Modern Studio Tech)`: pure white high-key studio, subtle light-gray perspective grid, floating cyan/blue glass UI
- `Style 2B (Cinematic Story)`: full-color narrative environments, cinematic lighting & depth
- `Style 3 (Prehistoric Hand-Drawn / Dark Comedy)`: expressive white filled heads, black stick limbs, animal-hide costumes and earthy prehistoric settings; story-specific casting
- `Style 4 (Cozy Storytelling)`: expressive minimalist white-filled characters with dark stick limbs in full-color 2D cartoon environments; varied story locations and cinematic shot changes
If aspect ratio or visual style is missing, ask for all missing items in one concise message and stop. If duration is omitted, default to 60 seconds (6 clips). If a user provides a duration not divisible by 10, round to the nearest 10-second multiple. If a user specifies only light or dark theme, default to Style 1. Never select an aspect ratio or style silently. Do not re-ask choices already supplied.
