Unity Skills
Official Unity skill set for agents: editor control, builds, 2D and 3D, UI, URP, audio, multiplayer and monetization
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.
Why this level
- The skills run the Unity CLI, install editors, build and test projects
- With an open editor the agent can run arbitrary C# and modify scenes and assets
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/unity-skillsDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.
Other ways to install
Assembled automatically, review before installing.

Install the Unity skill set: npx skills add Unity-Technologies/skills. Use the unity-cli skill to drive the editor from the terminal, and install the package with unity pipeline install if needed.
Other ways from the author
npx skills add Unity-Technologies/skillsInstalls the whole set via skills.sh. For a single skill add --skill and the folder name.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The set gives the agent methodology for common Unity development tasks, with each topic packaged as a separate SKILL.md with references and C# code samples. The unity-cli skill installs and upgrades editors, creates and opens projects, reads logs, runs builds and tests, and when an editor is open it drives it live through the Pipeline package: creating and modifying scene objects, editing assets and running arbitrary C#. Other skills cover BIRP to URP migration, URP post-processing, sprite atlases and pixel perfect, tilemaps and rule tiles, three UI systems (IMGUI, uGUI, UI Toolkit), audio and mixers, web optimization, collision physics, localization, navigation, in-app purchases, LevelPlay ads, multiplayer services and Vivox voice chat. Everything runs locally, on the user's machine and account.
Who it is for. For Unity game developers who work alongside a coding agent.
Good fit when
- You need to drive the Unity editor and project from the terminal: builds, tests, editor installs
- You need a vetted method for a specific topic: URP, UI Toolkit, sprite atlases, audio
- The agent should create and change scene objects in an open editor rather than hand-editing files
Not a fit when
- The project is not built on Unity
- You need a game content generator rather than an editor and code helper
Example request
Build the project in headless mode and show which tests failedLimitations
Live editor control needs the com.unity.pipeline package and Unity 6.0 or newer, installed once with unity pipeline install. Some skills sit on top of Unity services: purchases, LevelPlay ads, multiplayer, Vivox voice chat, which require separate accounts and setup. On compile errors the editor drops into Safe Mode, where the Pipeline package does not load and commands cannot connect.
How to disable. Remove the skill folders from the agent's directory, for example ~/.claude/skills/ or the project's .claude/skills/. The Pipeline package can be removed from the Unity project separately.
Security check
- The skills run the Unity CLI, install editors, build and test projects
- With an open editor the agent can run arbitrary C# and modify scenes and assets
README in short
The README describes a set of reusable skills for coding agents built around Unity workflows, and lists compatibility with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Cline and other agents through the skills.sh catalog. Installation is a single npx skills add command. Once installed, the agent reaches for the relevant skill when asked to perform a Unity operation. The repository holds dozens of skills, each in its own folder with a SKILL.md file, references and resources. A contributor guide documents the format.

--- name: unity-cli description: Use when interacting with Unity CLI from the terminal, or to control a running/connected Unity Editor from the command line — create or modify GameObjects, edit scenes and assets, inspect the hierarchy, and run C# in a live Editor instead of hand-editing scene or asset files. Also install, upgrade or uninstall editors, create, list or open projects, manage modules, manage licenses, check auth status, read logs, browse Unity releases, build/test projects, configure the Unity MCP server for AI agents, or run any other Unity CLI operation. For a guided idea-to-running-project flow for a brand-new game, use the new-unity-project skill instead. allowed-tools: - Bash --- # Unity CLI ## Drive a running Unity Editor (if one is open) **If a Unity Editor is open on this machine, this CLI can control it live** — create and modify GameObjects, edit scenes and assets, inspect the hierarchy, and run arbitrary C# — through the project's **Pipeline** package (`com.unity.pipeline`). This runs entirely on your local machine, in your own user account, against your own open Editor: it is not remote access and grants no privilege you don't already have at your own terminal.
FAQ
Is this one big setup or separate skills?
Separate skills by topic. The agent picks the right one, and you can keep only the folders you need.
Do I have to drive an open editor?
No. Many skills are methodology and code, and live control via Pipeline only kicks in when an editor is open and the package is installed.
