What it does
The tool forwards messages from personal WeChat, WeCom or Telegram into a local Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode or Pi session and returns agent output, permission requests and status to the same chat. The native terminal stays primary: you launch your usual CLI with its options and the chat acts as a remote entry. A persistent daemon mode switches between agents (`/codex`, `/claude`, `/opencode`, `/pi`), directories (`/cd`) and sessions (`/resume`), while `/status`, `/stop`, `/reset` and `/confirm` control the task and approvals. Files and images from the chat are saved locally and their path is added to the prompt. The interface is bilingual, switched with `/lang`.
Who it is for. Developers who run an agent on a work computer and want to send tasks and approve actions from a phone through a familiar messenger.
Good fit when
- A long task runs on a work machine while you are away from the office.
- An agent permission request must be approved from Telegram.
- Several directories and agents are switched with one chat command.
- A file or screenshot from a phone has to reach the agent session.
Not a fit when
- The work computer is reachable by others and the chat is not protected.
- The agent cannot be trusted to run commands unattended.
- Cloud hosting of the agent is needed rather than a bridge to a local one.
Example request
Link a Telegram bot to local Claude Code and show how to send a task and approve a permission request from the chat.Limitations
Node 22.13 or newer and a local agent CLI in `PATH` are required. Claude Code works through a PTY, which needs the native `node-pty` module, and newer npm versions on Linux can block its install. Pi runs with the full rights of the local user and no extra approval layer. The license is AGPL-3.0. Everything sent in chat passes through the messenger service. Protect the bot and the device link, since access to them equals control of the agent session.
How to disable. Stop the daemon and bridge, remove the global package with `npm uninstall -g`, then revoke the bot or device link in the messenger itself and clear `~/.cli-bridge`.
FAQ
Which messengers are supported?
Personal WeChat, WeCom and Telegram, each with a setup command: `wechat-setup`, `wecom-setup`, `telegram-setup`.
Which agents can be connected?
Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode and Pi, launched with commands such as `telegram-claude` or `wechat-codex`.
How do I approve an agent action from chat?
Send `/confirm` or `/yes`; with several requests `/confirm <number>` and `/deny <number>` handle the listed one.
How do I stop a task?
With `/stop` in the chat. `/reset` recreates the local session.
Which package name should I install?
The README suggests `cli-chat-bridge` for new users; `cli-wechat-bridge` and `@unlinearity/cli-wechat-bridge` ship the same commands, and only one should be installed.
