Broad access

Why this level

  • The bridge server accepts commands and approvals for agents that run commands and write files on your computer over the network; keep it on a trusted network or behind Tailscale
  • The app can commit, push branches and revert edits in your repositories
  • Claude subscription sign-in may violate Anthropic's terms of use, and a terms violation can lead to restrictions on the Claude account

Install

Manual install

npx @ccpocket/bridge@latest

Requires Node.js 20.18.1 or newer. The server prints a QR code for the app to scan. The app installs separately from the App Store, Google Play or the releases page.

What it does

CC Pocket has two parts: an app for a phone, tablet or Mac, and a bridge server that runs on your computer. The Claude Code and Codex agents run on the same computer that holds your projects, shell and git. The app shows their sessions as a chat that takes answers to agent questions and permissions for its actions. Your projects stay on your machine. The bridge server installs with one command, `npx @ccpocket/bridge@latest`, and prints a QR code that the app scans to connect. A saved host address or Tailscale works too: the app connects to `ws://<host-address>:8765`. For an always-on computer, `npx @ccpocket/bridge@1 setup` registers the bridge as a background service, launchd on macOS or systemd on Linux. From the app you can continue a session started in the console and the other way around. The chat takes voice input and images, and project files and changes in code and images open inside the app. The same app stages files, commits, pushes a branch or reverts edits. Git worktrees keep parallel tasks apart.

Who it is for. For developers who run Claude Code or Codex on a home or work computer and want to answer the agent from a phone.

Good fit when

  • The agent finished a step and waits for permission while you are away from the computer: you can answer from the app
  • A long task runs on a home Mac and you want to check the result from another city through Tailscale
  • A Claude Code session started in the console has to continue on a tablet and then return to the Mac
  • You need to review changes in code and images before a commit but have no laptop nearby
  • The computer stays on and the bridge must start by itself: `npx @ccpocket/bridge@1 setup` does that

Not a fit when

  • You want an agent that runs in the cloud with no computer of yours: sessions run only on the machine with the bridge
  • Neither Claude Code nor Codex is installed on the computer: the bridge has nothing to control
  • You run Gemini CLI or Cursor: the app works with Codex and Claude only
  • Company policy forbids opening a port and installing Node.js on the work machine

Example request

Start the CC Pocket bridge on this computer and show the QR code so I can connect my phone

Limitations

  • Node.js 20.18.1 or newer and at least one agent (Claude Code or Codex) are needed on the computer that runs the bridge.
  • Claude sessions use the key from `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY` by default. Claude subscription sign-in through `BRIDGE_ALLOW_CLAUDE_OAUTH=1` may violate Anthropic's terms of use: the author says it is unclear whether this setup is allowed.
  • Messages sent offline wait and go out after reconnecting, but new agent requests need a connection.
  • The Linux and Windows builds are marked experimental. The app is not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI.

How to disable. Stop the bridge server with Ctrl+C if it runs in a console. A background service created by `setup` is disabled with system tools: launchd on macOS and systemd on Linux. The phone app then loses access to your computer, and you can delete the saved host in its settings.

FAQ

How do I control Claude Code from a phone?

Run `npx @ccpocket/bridge@latest` on the computer, install the CC Pocket app and scan the printed QR code. Then pick a project and an agent, and the session opens as a chat. The agent itself keeps running on your computer.

How do I connect to the computer from another network?

The author recommends Tailscale. Install it on the computer and the phone, join them to one tailnet and connect the app to `ws://<host-tailscale-address>:8765`. On the same local network a QR code, mDNS discovery or a manually entered `ws://` or `wss://` address is enough.

Do I need an Anthropic key to work with Claude?

Yes, by default the bridge uses the key from `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY`. The bridge also has Claude subscription sign-in, but it may violate Anthropic's terms of use, as the author warns. An API key is the reliable option for Claude.

Which platforms does CC Pocket support?

The app ships for iOS, iPadOS and Android, and desktop builds exist for macOS, Linux and Windows. The Linux and Windows builds are experimental. On macOS the app also installs through Homebrew with `brew install --cask cc-pocket`.

Where do my files and code go?

The bridge runs on your computer and reaches projects, shell and git locally. The app gets the chat and changes from the bridge, while the agents send context to their model providers just as they do in the console. The project is designed for self-hosting and minimal data collection.

README in short

The repository page opens with a five-step install and a platform table. It goes on to the feature list, a section on forking the project for your own workflow, a diagram of the app and the bridge, remote access setup and notes on Claude authentication and privacy. It closes with development commands and a link to the contribution rules.
