What it does

md2wechat is a command-line tool that breaks publishing an article to a WeChat official account into a set of verifiable commands. The inspect command returns structured metadata, checks and publish readiness, preview writes out the final HTML, and convert runs the conversion and, only on an explicit request, uploads images and creates a draft. There are commands for generating text, covers and infographics, for title suggestions and for managing several accounts. A separate set of discovery commands (capabilities, doctor, themes, layout, providers) gives the agent machine-readable facts about what is available and what can be done. JSON output is meant for stable calls from Claude Code, Codex and other agents that can run a local CLI. It also prepares content for drafts on other platforms, which the agent then creates through an already signed-in browser.

Who it is for. For writers and content specialists who run a WeChat official account and want to prepare and lay out articles through an agent.

Limitations

The project is under a Source Available license: personal use, learning and evaluation are free, while commercial use, SaaS, client delivery, white-label and redistribution require a separate license. The free mode produces a prompt that an external model finishes, while stable layout with extended themes and modules runs through a paid professional API. Creating drafts and uploading images require WeChat credentials, and image generation needs external provider keys. The service and docs target China, and availability of some services from Russia without a VPN is not guaranteed.

How to disable. Remove the global package: npm uninstall -g @geekjourneyx/md2wechat. If installed as a plugin, remove it via /plugin.
