What it does
Pagecast turns a local HTML report, a Markdown document or a built static site into a Cloudflare Pages link. A file is published from the terminal with `npx pagecast publish "/path/report.html" --json` or handed to an agent. Each publication gets an address with a `/p/<slug>/` slug that can be shared. A link has a lifetime (30 days by default, or `7d`, `12h` or never), a password and revocation. Publishing the same file again in the same agent context updates the old address. Publishing a whole `dist`, `build` or `out` folder yields a small site. The local panel `npx pagecast` shows all publications and deployment history, and optional analytics counts views and unique visitors in your Cloudflare account. Pagecast connects to agents in three ways. The `publish-report` skill installs into Codex, Claude Code, Cursor and Gemini CLI, a Claude Code plugin adds a hook that notices new reports, and the `npx pagecast mcp` MCP server offers the `publish_file`, `publish_content`, `list_pages`, `status` and `revoke_publication` tools.
Who it is for. Developers and analysts whose agents produce HTML or Markdown reports, plans and dashboards that must be shared with a team by link.
Good fit when
- An agent generated a test coverage or Lighthouse report and it has to be shown to colleagues without a manual cloud upload.
- A migration plan in Markdown goes to a client as a link that stops working on its own after a week.
- A data dashboard is locked with a password and opened only to the intended person.
- A prototype built with `npm run build` is shown at a separate address without setting up hosting.
- A link that went out by mistake must be revoked quickly.
Not a fit when
- The page needs a running backend: Pagecast publishes static files only, so server rendering must be exported first.
- The data is confidential and no password is set: the link only looks private and anyone who gets the address can open it.
- The project source folder holds keys or an `.env` file: all visible files in the folder are published, needed or not.
- You have no Cloudflare account: publishing does not work without one.

Node.js 20.19 or newer and a Cloudflare account are required, with login through Wrangler OAuth or an API token. The `publish` command copies all visible files from the folder with the source file, a new copy is limited to 512 MiB and 10,000 files, and development folders with a package manifest or a Git repository are rejected. A new link is unlisted but not private: only a password limits access. Revocation, expiry and password changes apply to the new deployment, so old snapshots are cleaned with a separate `pagecast pages deployments prune` command. Open the panel ports on `127.0.0.1` only.
How to disable. Revoke publications in the panel or with the `revoke_publication` tool, then delete old snapshots with `npx pagecast pages deployments delete <id>`. Remove the skill from the agent's skills directory and the `pagecast` entry from the MCP settings, and delete the Cloudflare Pages project in your account if you wish.
FAQ
How do I publish a report with Pagecast?
Run `npx pagecast publish "/absolute/path/report.html" --json`. The command returns an address like `/p/<slug>/`. `--expires 7d` sets the lifetime and `--password` sets a password.
How do I connect Pagecast to Claude Code?
Run `/plugin marketplace add Amal-David/pagecast`, then `/plugin install pagecast@pagecast`. The plugin enables a hook that notices created reports. The skill alone installs with `npx skills add`.
Does Pagecast connect as an MCP server?
Yes. Add a `pagecast` server with the `npx` command and the arguments `pagecast`, `mcp`. Only local stdio works, and the `revoke_publication` tool requires `confirm: true`.
Is a published link closed to outsiders?
No. A new link is unlisted, but anyone who has the address can open it. Lock the page with the `--password` flag or the switch in the panel.
What is needed to run it?
Node.js 20.19 or newer and a Cloudflare account. On first launch the panel offers to connect Cloudflare through the Wrangler browser login.
