Access and checks
How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.
- The CLI reads source, writes docs and cache, and submits analysis context to the chosen model.
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
RepoWiki turns codebases into linked documentation. Its scan command reads modules and produces overviews, diagrams and a reading path. Separate commands provide a repository map and suggested diff-review order. Outputs include Markdown, JSON and self-contained HTML. Terminal or web questions return source references with line ranges. Later scans use caching and rebuild affected pages.
Who it is for. Documentation authors and new teammates who need a reading path through a large repository.
Good fit when
- Project onboarding needs a module and relationship overview.
- Changed code needs targeted documentation refresh.
- A review needs an ordered list of files to inspect.
- A teammate needs one HTML overview with diagrams.
Not a fit when
- Source code must not reach the selected LLM provider.
- You need a test-coverage report, but only a dependency map is available.
- Remote-clone analysis needs Git history absent from a shallow clone.
Example request
Generate an HTML overview of the test repository and show any files excluded from analysis.Limitations
Generation requires access to a selected model, so check credentials and rules for submitting source code. Git exclusions and common-secret-file filtering reduce scope but do not replace inspection of submitted content. Scanning can be partial; review warnings about omitted or oversized files. URL-based repositories use shallow clones, so arbitrary revision comparisons require a local checkout with full history.
How to disable. Stop the web server and remove automatic Git-hook or CI scans. Generated docs and cache remain separate from source files.
