Access and checks

How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • AGPL-3.0: terms for embedding into services
  • Graphviz, git and uv are needed

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

TerraVision draws cloud architecture diagrams in AWS, Azure and GCP styles: from a description you give an agent or from Terraform code. In Claude Desktop it installs as an extension (the `.mcpb` file from the release), in Claude Code as a plugin: `claude plugin marketplace add patrickchugh/terravision` and `claude plugin install terravision-cloud-diagrams@terravision`. It also works with Codex CLI, GitHub Copilot and Cursor. Diagrams are saved in the project's `diagrams` folder. Graphviz and git are needed, plus uv for Claude Code. Version 0.52.0 from 02.10.2026. AGPL-3.0 license.

Who it is for. For DevOps engineers and architects who need a cloud infrastructure diagram from a description or from Terraform code.

Good fit when

  • You need a cloud architecture diagram from Terraform
  • You need a diagram from a description you give an agent
  • You need AWS, Azure and GCP diagrams in the familiar style

Not a fit when

  • You embed the tool into a closed network service
  • You need Gemini CLI with a personal Google account: per the README it does not work since 18.06.2026

Example request

Draw a cloud architecture diagram from the Terraform code in the infra folder and save to diagrams

Limitations

For personal work on your own machine AGPL-3.0 usually does not get in the way; if TerraVision is embedded into a network service, the license terms should be read in advance. Graphviz and git are needed, plus uv for Claude Code. Components download on first launch and the connection may need a reconnect. For Gemini CLI with a personal Google account the tool does not work per the README. Access is extended: it reads Terraform code and writes diagram files.

How to disable. In Claude Code run claude plugin uninstall terravision-cloud-diagrams@terravision, in Claude Desktop disable the extension in settings. The diagrams folder with ready diagrams stays in the project.
