What it does
Skills Manager keeps one central skill library and installs skills into many coding tools via symlink or copy. Skills come from Git repos, local folders, .zip and .skill archives or the skills.sh marketplace, and get grouped into presets, tagged, and checked for updates. A CLI and a manage-skills skill ship inside the app, so Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents can install, deploy or list skills by driving Skills Manager instead of writing into agent folders directly, which keeps source, preset membership and deployment state intact. It offers backup to a private GitHub repo and cross-device library sync with skill-aware merges. The app ships for macOS via Homebrew, plus Windows and Linux.

The primary interface is a Tauri desktop app; the CLI ships inside the app, and a standalone CLI install on a server is done manually. The manage-skills skill works only when the app's published CLI is present. Backup and cross-device sync require connecting a private GitHub repository.
How to disable. Uninstall the app, on macOS via brew uninstall --cask skills-manager, or with the OS uninstaller. Remove the manage-skills skill from agents via the app dashboard or by deleting its folder.
