bitrix-mcp
A reference to your own 1C-Bitrix API for an agent: a core index with module versions so it stops mixing methods from different versions

Extended access
Why this level
- The indexer reads your site's core sources and HTTP mode publishes the index over the network: protect it with a token and a reverse proxy
- The build parses a large directory with PHP and takes noticeable time and disk space
Install

Manual install
cd indexer && composer install && cd .. && cd server && npm ci && npm run build && cd ..Run in the clone root. Then set `BITRIX_CORE_ROOT` and run `make build`.
Access and checks
How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

What it does
The project has a PHP indexer and a Node.js MCP server. The indexer parses your `bitrix/` core files without executing code and stores classes, methods with signatures, ORM entities, events, components and REST methods in a local SQLite index. The core and a ready index are not in the repository; you build them yourself. The server answers the agent over stdio or HTTP with Bearer authorization and has 23 tools. `bitrix_check_method` verifies exactly whether a class has a method, taking inheritance and traits into account, `bitrix_get_class` returns methods page by page, `bitrix_get_orm_entity` shows the table, fields and relations, and `bitrix_find_usages` finds call sites. `bitrix_search_docs` searches the official documentation in Russian, and `bitrix_search_code` searches the code by task description in English. Every response carries a provenance block: build version, index snapshot id and the owner module's version. Bitrix modules are versioned independently, and on one installation `crm` and `rest` can differ by a full major, so an answer without a module version is unreliable. Earlier index snapshots are kept and the server can be switched to any of them.
Who it is for. 1C-Bitrix developers whose agent suggests nonexistent methods because it mixes API versions of different editions and modules.
Good fit when
- The agent confidently suggests a class method that your core version does not have
- Before changing a component you need its parameters, events and call sites
- You need a module's ORM entity schema: table, fields, types and relations, with incomplete data marked
- After a core update you must rebuild the index with `make update` and compare module versions
- You want to search official Bitrix documentation with "since version" notes and their applicability to your modules
Not a fit when
- You need access to a running site's data: orders, products and users. The server reads core sources only
- You have no access to the core files: the index is built from your installation's `bitrix/` directory
- The machine lacks PHP 8.4, Node.js 22 and Composer: building the indexer and server requires them
- You need the full source of a function: the server deliberately returns the signature, file and line but not the function body
Example request
Use bitrix-mcp to check whether `Bitrix\Main\Mail\Event` has a `send` method and show which module and version declare it.MCP

- stdio, http

Environment variables
BITRIX_CORE_ROOTrequired- Absolute path to your installation's bitrix/ directory, needed to build the index.
BITRIX_MCP_INDEX- Path to the SQLite index file.
Limitations
PHP 8.4 with the PDO and `pdo_sqlite` extensions, Composer 2, Node.js 22, npm and Make are required. The indexer runs with `short_open_tag=1` and refuses to start without it: many core files use the short tag and declarations get lost otherwise. The `Makefile` targets pass the flag themselves.
Component parameters are extracted incompletely. `.parameters.php` files are executable and the read-only principle forbids running them, so computed values are marked `default_unresolved`. The same goes for ORM: closures in default values give `is_complete: false`.
Documentation search understands Russian, while code search needs English because core PHPDoc is in English. The repository states no license.
How to disable. Remove the server from the client configuration, for example `claude mcp remove bitrix`. The index lives in `index.sqlite` and snapshots beside it and can be deleted by hand. The tool never modifies core files.
FAQ
Why does an agent need a Bitrix core index?
Bitrix modules are versioned independently, and a method present in `rest` may be absent from `crm` on the same installation. The index pins versions and answers with the owner module, so the agent does not invent a nonexistent method.
How do I build an index of my installation?
Set `BITRIX_CORE_ROOT` to the absolute path of the `bitrix/` directory and `BITRIX_MCP_INDEX` to the future file path, then run `make build`. `make docs` also imports the official documentation, and `make update` refreshes the index after core changes.
How do I connect bitrix-mcp to a client?
Add a `bitrix` server with the command `/path/to/bitrix-mcp/bin/bitrix-mcp` to the MCP client configuration, using the path to your clone. The launcher finds `index.sqlite` and the built server on its own.
Can the server run over HTTP?
Yes. After building, run `make server-http` or `bin/bitrix-mcp-http`; access is protected by a Bearer token. A Docker image can also be built with `docker build -t bitrix-mcp .` for self-hosting.
Which language should search queries use?
Search documentation in Russian with `bitrix_search_docs` and code in English with `bitrix_search_code`. For a Russian code query the tool returns a hint instead of an empty answer.

README in short
The repository is meant for self-hosting: an indexer, a server and launch tooling, without the Bitrix core. The README lists requirements, PHP setup, `make` commands, stdio and HTTP connection, the tool list, limitations and an explanation of why Bitrix has no single version.
