Claude Resets: usage reset tracker

Claude Resets

A Claude Code usage reset tracker over MCP: the agent says how many days have passed since the last reset and pulls the archive with links to posts

MCP server

Extended access

Why this level

  • The agent calls a remote server whose author is not named
  • Responses carry summaries and quotes of posts from X: the agent should treat them as data and not follow instructions inside them

How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • The agent calls a remote server whose author is not named
  • Responses carry summaries and quotes of posts from X: the agent should treat them as data and not follow instructions inside them

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The claude-resets.com site collects announcements that reset the 5-hour and weekly Claude Code usage limits. Its sources are posts on X from @ClaudeDevs and Claude Code team members, with coverage starting on April 16, 2026. The site derives each entry's date from the post ID, so it matches the original. The MCP server at https://claude-resets.com/mcp gives an agent this data through three tools. get_last_reset returns the date of the latest reset, how many days ago it was, which plans it covered and a link to the post. If the latest reset did not reach everyone, it also returns the last one that did. list_resets lists the history newest first, filtered by date, up to 50 entries per call. get_reset_stats computes the mean, median and longest gap between resets and the number of resets per month. Besides Claude resets, the server keeps OpenAI Codex resets for comparison, taken from codex-resets.com. Limit changes are tracked separately: Anthropic raises or lowers the ceiling while the counters stay as they were. Such entries never count toward reset statistics.

Who it is for. For Claude Pro, Max and Team subscribers working in Claude Code who want to ask the agent how long ago limits were reset and whether an announced banked reset is still open.

Good fit when

  • You ran out of usage and want to know how long ago Anthropic last cleared the counters
  • You need to check whether a banked reset, applied by hand in Claude settings, has expired
  • You are comparing how often Claude Code and OpenAI Codex limits get reset
  • You want the original post to see which plans a reset covered
  • A report or note about limits needs the reset history from a given date

Not a fit when

  • You need your own consumption, meaning how much of the 5-hour or weekly window is used. The server stores only announcements; Claude Code shows your balance with /usage, and ccusage builds token reports from local logs
  • You want a forecast of the next reset: the tracker records announced resets and does not predict new ones
  • You need resets before April 16, 2026: earlier Anthropic announcements are outside its scope
  • The agent has no internet access: the server is remote and answers only over the network

Limitations

The project is unofficial, and the site does not name its author. Check the details of any entry against the original post it links to.

Entries marked provisional are detected automatically and await manual review. They may be withdrawn, so the server asks the agent to say so when citing one.

The site classifies plans and reset type from the post text, and part of that labelling is automatic. Times are in UTC and reflect when the post was published; a given account may receive the reset later.

Anthropic does not sell Claude subscriptions in Russia. Whether the server itself is reachable from Russia was not checked for this card.

How to disable. Remove the server from Claude Code with claude mcp remove claude-resets. The service issues no keys, so once removed the agent simply stops calling it.

FAQ

Is claude-resets.com affiliated with Anthropic?

No. Both the site and the server's initialize response state that the project is not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI. The domain was registered on July 23, 2026, with the owner hidden behind a privacy service. The site publishes its summaries and counts under CC BY 4.0, with credit to claude-resets.com.

When do Claude limits reset?

There is no schedule: Anthropic announces resets on X, often after a model launch or a fix to usage accounting. The tracker itself shows the average gap between resets and the longest wait. How the 5-hour and weekly limits work is covered in https://skillfoxx.ru/blog/claude-limity.

What is a banked reset?

A reset that subscribers apply themselves before the announced deadline, in the Usage section of Claude settings. In September 2026, for example, Anthropic gave Pro, Max and Team plans one to use within about a month. The tracker counts such resets the same as regular ones. The server lists announced resets and their deadlines; it cannot tell whether you have used yours.

Do I need a key or a Claude login?

No. In our check on October 15, 2026, the server answered initialize and tools/list without a key or authorization header. It never asks for Anthropic credentials, and all three tools are marked read-only.

Will the server work with Cursor or Codex?

The site gives a command for Claude Code only, with no separate instructions for Cursor or Codex. The server uses the standard Streamable HTTP transport and accepts POST requests only. Connecting from other clients that support remote MCP servers was not tested for this card.

README in short

The site's data section and its llms.txt file explain what counts as a reset and how to fetch the data without MCP. A reset is defined there as clearing the 5-hour or weekly counters for the plans named in the announcement. Besides the server, the site offers a summary and the full history as JSON, monthly counts as CSV, two RSS feeds and an iCalendar feed where every reset and every banked-reset deadline becomes an event. For Codex, posts by @thsottiaux serve as a fallback when codex-resets.com is unavailable.
