What it does

The server gives an AI assistant control over DaVinci Resolve Studio through its native scripting API. The agent assembles timelines, organizes the media pool, drops review markers, sets up renders, and works with grading, Fusion, Fairlight and project lifecycle tasks. Two modes are available: a compact one that groups operations behind action parameters, and a full one with a separate tool for each API method. A second, optional Node server ships alongside and reads and edits project files (.drp, .drt, .drx) with no Resolve running. A local browser control panel is included for inspecting Resolve state and analyzing clips.

Who it is for. For video editors, colorists and post teams who automate DaVinci Resolve work through an agent.

Limitations

Live control goes through the scripting API, which Blackmagic mainly exposes on the Studio edition. On the free edition external scripting is blocked; the README describes an in-app bridge script for it that can stop working after program updates. Before connecting you must enable external scripting in Resolve's preferences. The extra file-editing server works offline and does not need a running Resolve.

How to disable. Remove the server from your client's MCP configuration and delete the installed server folder from the application-data directory.
