What it does
This Java and JDA server gives an agent broad access to Discord through a bot. It reads and writes messages in channels and DMs, adds reactions, and creates and edits text, voice and forum channels, categories and webhooks. It manages roles and permissions, handles moderation with kick, ban and timeout, schedules events, and works with invites and emojis. It runs in http mode as one shared container or in stdio mode.

You need a Discord bot with its own token and server permissions; some operations require matching bot roles. Access to Discord is restricted in Russia, so without workarounds the server and API may be unreachable. It runs from a Docker image, Docker Compose or a Maven-built jar; there is no ready npm or PyPI package. If DISCORD_GUILD_ID is set, the guildId parameter becomes optional in the tools.
How to disable. Stop and remove the discord-mcp container or delete the block from your MCP client config and restart it.

FAQ
How do http and stdio modes differ?
In http mode one shared container is started and clients connect at the /mcp endpoint. In stdio mode a separate process or container is launched per client session.
Do I need DISCORD_GUILD_ID?
It is optional. If you set a default server id, tools that accept guildId can be called without it.
