What it does
Himalayas is a remote jobs marketplace, and the server at https://mcp.himalayas.app/mcp connects it to an AI agent. It has 79 tools in three groups: 13 public ones that need no account, 46 for job seekers and 20 for employers. Without signing in the agent searches jobs by title, skill, country and seniority, shows job details and related roles, searches companies and returns salary data: minimum, median and maximum in US dollars for a title. After sign-in a job seeker gets new matching jobs, saves them to a tracker, gets the application link and asks for a resume and cover letter tailored to the job. The agent also maintains the profile and reads and answers recruiter messages in the inbox. An employer posts a job through the same server, checks its performance, searches candidates by skill and messages them. Jobs are free and reviewed before going live. Paid extras return a Stripe checkout link.
Who it is for. Job seekers and hiring teams that look for or fill remote positions and want to run the search from an agent chat.
Good fit when
- You want remote Python jobs paying above a set amount from a particular country
- Before a salary conversation you want the range for a title and country
- A resume and cover letter must be tailored to a chosen job, with the application link in hand
- A company needs to post a job and see how many views and responses it collects
- A recruiter replied on Himalayas and you need to read the message and draft an answer
Not a fit when
- You want on-site or local-market jobs: the board collects remote work
- Applications must go out without you: the server returns a link and a person submits it
- You do not want a Himalayas account: only 13 tools are public, the rest need sign-in
- The search runs on Russian boards: the data comes from Himalayas only
Example request
Find remote senior data engineer jobs in Germany paying from 90 thousand dollars and show the salary range for that title.MCP

Limitations
Only 13 tools are public; the others need sign-in. Employer tools require an account linked to a company.
Application links are capped at 50 per account per day. Talent search works only after sign-in, and an anonymous call returns an authentication error.
The old `/sse` endpoint is retired and answers with 410. Agents limited to local stdio need the `mcp-remote` bridge and Node.js. Reachability of the service from Russia was not checked for this card.
How to disable. Run claude mcp remove himalayas. Revoke the sign-in on the Himalayas side; profile and tracker data stay in your account.
FAQ
How do I connect Himalayas to Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http himalayas https://mcp.himalayas.app/mcp, then /mcp inside Claude Code when you need account tools. The README has ready config blocks for Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf.
Do I need an API key?
No, sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 in a browser on himalayas.app. The client never sees your password and gets only the scopes you approve.
What works without an account?
Thirteen public tools: job and company search, job details, salary data, remote work statistics and posting a paid job.
Is there a skill or plugin?
Yes. The Himalayas-App/himalayas-plugin plugin adds the server, commands and skills for job seekers and employers. In Claude Code it installs with /plugin marketplace add and /plugin install.
How much does posting a job cost?
Posting is free and jobs are reviewed before going live. Paid extras, sticky placement and a newsletter feature, return a Stripe checkout link.
