What it does
LinkedIn MCP Server connects an agent to an authenticated LinkedIn browser session. Tools search people and jobs, read company pages and retrieve selected profile sections such as experience, education, posts and recommendations as JSON. Login opens a browser window and stores authentication locally. Job searches support work type, experience, posting date and other filters. The server runs locally or over HTTP; its documented tools focus on search and retrieval rather than sending messages.

Limitations
Python 3.12 or later, uv and a separate Patchright browser installation are required. The authenticated session is retained in a local directory that must be protected like credentials. Browser-based LinkedIn collection may violate platform terms and lead to account restrictions, so review whether the workflow is permitted beforehand. Section availability depends on the account and current page; layout changes can yield incomplete data that needs checking against the source.
How to disable. Remove the MCP entry and stop the process. Run `uv run linkedin-mcp-server --logout` to clear retained authentication when no longer needed.

Is a LinkedIn account required?
Yes. The owner logs in through the opened browser and checks the retained session.
Where is authentication stored?
In `~/.linkedin-mcp-server/browser-data`. Restrict access to that directory.
Can I retrieve just experience?
Yes. The profile tool accepts specific sections. Request only the ones needed.
How do I check login status?
Run `uv run linkedin-mcp-server --status` before connecting a client.
Which transport should I use for Cursor?
Use the documented local stdio configuration with the full project-directory path.
