What it does

The server is published to npm as @ru-financial-tools/moex-mcp and runs with no install via npx. Ten tools cover the key ISS API sections: engines, markets and boards reference data, security search, market data, the order book, a trade feed with recent and by_date modes, candles, trading history, indices with list, value, history and members, market and root turnovers, and a combined reference dicts lookup. The client retries up to five times with exponential backoff and jitter on 408, 429 and 5xx errors, and responses are cached via Keyv on SQLite, with the cache disableable or pointed at a custom path. Three ready prompts are included: moex_quickstart, moex_resources_help and moex_find_board.

Who it is for. For developers who want a mature MOEX MCP server with caching and retries, no build from source required.

Good fit when

You want a one-command npx run with no repository clone
You care about resilience to ISS load: request retries and a response cache
You need an order book and a trade feed for a specific date, not just current quotes

Not a fit when

You need FORTS futures or dividends: these ISS sections are not covered here
You do not want a local SQLite cache and prefer a fully stateless server

Limitations

0 stars, a single author, no updates in over a year. No futures, bond or dividend tools; coverage is limited to core ISS sections. The default SQLite cache is a local file, and with fast-changing data it can return stale values until the TTL expires.

How to disable. Remove the moex-mcp block from your MCP client config, and optionally delete the local SQLite cache file.

Do I need to pre-install the package?

No, npx -y downloads and runs the @ru-financial-tools/moex-mcp package automatically on every start.

Can I turn off the cache?

Yes, the MOEX_CACHE_DISABLED=1 variable disables the Keyv-on-SQLite cache entirely.
