What it does
The server gives an agent access to the macOS calendar through the Calendar app. From a plain phrase it creates events with location, notes, reminders and recurrence, picks the right calendar, shows a schedule for a period and finds free slots for a meeting. Events can be changed: move the time, switch calendar, update location, notes and reminders. If a Google calendar is synced with iCloud, you can work with Google events through it too.
Who it is for. For macOS users who keep a personal and work schedule in the Calendar app.

It works only on macOS with the Calendar app configured. For the system to prompt for calendar access, the client must be launched from the terminal, otherwise access has to be granted manually. It installs from the cloned repository via uv sync and uv run; there is no PyPI package. Per the README, non-standard recurring events are sometimes set imprecisely, and reminders for all-day recurring events may shift by a day.
How to disable. Remove the mcp-ical block from your MCP client config and restart it, optionally delete the repository folder and revoke calendar access in system settings.

FAQ
Why launch the client from the terminal?
Only a terminal launch makes macOS show the calendar access prompt. Launching from Finder does not trigger it, so access must be granted manually.
Can it work with Google Calendar?
Yes, if it is synced with the iCloud calendar. Then you can specify the Google calendar when creating an event.
