VK and Telegram MCP server on Cloudflare Workers

smm-mcp

A Cloudflare Workers MCP server combining the VK API and Telegram Bot API: community stats, the wall, members, posts and broadcasts

MCP server

Medium risk

We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.

Why this level

  • It can send messages via the Telegram Bot API as the bot
  • VK and Telegram tokens are stored as worker secrets and are accessible to the server code

Install

In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI

npx skillfoxx add mcp/smm-mcp

Detects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.

Other ways to install

Assembled automatically, review before installing.

Run in a terminal

claude mcp add --transport http smm-mcp 'https://smm-mcp.<ACCOUNT value>.workers.dev/<your MCP_SECRET>/mcp'

Or add to the file .mcp.json, in the project

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "smm-mcp": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://smm-mcp.<ACCOUNT value>.workers.dev/<your MCP_SECRET>/mcp"

Checked against the repository on Sep 25, 2026, commit 357f973.

Text for your agent

Deploy the worker with wrangler deploy, set the MCP_SECRET, VK_TOKEN and TG_BOT_TOKEN secrets, and connect your MCP client to https://<worker>.workers.dev/<MCP_SECRET>/mcp.

Other ways from the author
wrangler deploy

Deploying the Cloudflare worker after configuring the MCP_SECRET, VK_TOKEN and TG_BOT_TOKEN secrets.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The server hand-implements MCP protocol version 2025-06-18 on Cloudflare Workers with no ready-made SDK, providing tools for both platforms at once: VK community statistics, wall posts, member lists via the VK API, and sending messages and posts via the Telegram Bot API. It deploys as a worker and answers at an address like https://<worker>.workers.dev/<MCP_SECRET>/mcp, where the secret in the path acts as simple access protection.

Who it is for. For SMM specialists who run a VK community and a Telegram channel at once and want a single entry point for an agent.

Good fit when

  • You need one server for both VK and Telegram instead of two separate ones
  • You need a serverless deploy on Cloudflare Workers with no hosting of your own
  • Protection via a path secret instead of full authorization works for you

Not a fit when

  • You need to publish posts to a VK community: the code mostly implements reads (stats, wall, members)
  • You need stronger protection than a secret in the worker's URL path
  • You have no Cloudflare account to deploy the worker

Example request

Show the statistics for the VK community apiclub and the latest posts from its wall

Limitations

The project is small, seven files, and the MCP protocol is hand-implemented with no official SDK, which raises the risk of incompatibility as the spec evolves. Protection relies on a secret in the URL path, simpler than a header token and notably weaker than full authorization. The VK part of the README and code focuses on reading data (stats, wall, members); post publishing is not clearly described.

How to disable. Delete the worker from Cloudflare or remove it from your MCP client configuration.

MCP

The URL-path secret protecting access to the worker.
VK_TOKEN
required, secret
The VK API access token.
TG_BOT_TOKEN

The Telegram bot token from @BotFather.

Security check

  • It can send messages via the Telegram Bot API as the bot
  • VK and Telegram tokens are stored as worker secrets and are accessible to the server code

README in short

The README is short and states this is a social-media MCP combine on Cloudflare Workers, combining the VK API and Telegram Bot API, with a connection address like /<MCP_SECRET>/mcp and three secrets: MCP_SECRET, VK_TOKEN and TG_BOT_TOKEN. The code in src/index.js describes the tools in more detail than the README: community statistics, wall posts and members for VK.

FAQ

Is an official MCP SDK required?

No, the protocol is hand-implemented directly in src/index.js on Cloudflare Workers.

How is the server address protected?

With the MCP_SECRET secret directly in the URL path, rather than a header token.
