Broad access
Why this level
- Community keys open subscribers dialogs and allow moderation and deletion of objects
- Writing is possible once the profile is enabled and changes public community content
Install

- Services
Manual install
Connect the server following `docs/onboarding.md`: the agent and the operator follow the steps in that file. Do not print or accept VK keys in chat. Do not enable writing without my explicit command.
Access and checks
How we reviewBroad accessThe tool can change data, run commands or handle secrets.
- Community keys open subscribers dialogs and allow moderation and deletion of objects
- Writing is possible once the profile is enabled and changes public community content
This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The server runs over Streamable HTTP on Linux with systemd and the agent connects over HTTPS with no local process. Version 0.3 has 50 tools and 102 actions: 100 VK API methods and two media upload scenarios. It covers community posts, comments, dialogs, statistics, photos, video and products, plus moderation, polls, stories and documents. Communities are set by an explicit allowlist. Community, user and service keys stay on the server, the catalog picks the right type itself and the client never passes a key in tool arguments. Writing is off by default: a plan lives 10 minutes, and execution needs an enabled write profile and an independent root confirmation of the exact hash through `deploy/approve.py`. An MCP client cannot create that confirmation. Media is uploaded from a public HTTPS address with redirect and size checks, up to 20 MiB, in JPEG, PNG, WebP and MP4. `docs/onboarding.md` describes installation for the agent and the operator.
Who it is for. Admins and SMM teams of VK communities who have a Linux server and need an agent for posts and moderation with strict write protection.
Good fit when
- The agent has to go through comments under the latest community posts and prepare replies
- You need community statistics and photos or video for a report
- Moderation goes through the agent but the owner approves deletion of objects
- One server serves several communities from an explicit list
Not a fit when
- You need a quick start without a server: the installer and confirmations are made for Linux with systemd
- You need the personal feed, ads or an arbitrary `execute`: they are not in the catalog
- You need OAuth for ChatGPT or Claude: it requires a separate MCP OAuth proxy, the server alone is not enough

Limitations
Catalog coverage does not guarantee access with any token: rights are checked separately for each method and community. HTTP takes up to 1 MiB per request and 120 authorized requests per minute, and a VK response is read up to 4 MiB with a 350 ms call interval.
Write plans are stored with the original payload in a service directory with 0700 permissions, and there is no automatic cleanup yet. Core uses a server bearer, while OAuth needs a separate proxy. Local development needs only Node.js 22 and `npm run check`, but `npm start` will not run without the protected configuration files.
How to disable. Stop the service and revoke the community keys in VK settings, then remove the server from the MCP client.
FAQ
Can the agent write on behalf of a community?
Only after the write profile is enabled and the server administrator confirms the exact plan hash. The MCP client cannot confirm a plan itself.
How do I install the server?
Clone the repository and follow `docs/onboarding.md`; development needs Node.js 22 and `npm ci --ignore-scripts`, then `npm run check`.
How many requests does the server accept?
Up to 120 authorized requests per minute and up to 1 MiB per request. A 350 ms interval is kept between calls to VK.
How long does a write plan last?
Ten minutes. After that the plan is prepared again and confirmed again.
What media does upload accept?
JPEG, PNG, WebP and MP4 from a public HTTPS address up to 20 MiB with redirect checks. Address and size are checked, content is not checked by a decoder.
