Access and checks

How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • Security roles only for your own systems
  • Any role runs commands with your rights

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

Awesome Codex Subagents by VoltAgent stores ready role descriptions for Codex subagents grouped by category: development, infrastructure, data, quality and more. Instead of looking for projects you take the role text, edit it for your task and connect it to Codex. The roles also include security, for example ethical penetration testing. The README has sponsor blocks. MIT license.

Who it is for. For Codex users who are tired of writing subagent role descriptions from scratch and want to start from ready templates.

Good fit when

  • You need a subagent role template for a specific category of tasks
  • You need examples of how to write role descriptions for Codex
  • You need to quickly put together a set of subagents for a project

Not a fit when

  • You need a runnable tool: the repository has role texts
  • You need to aim a hacking role at other people's systems: this must not be done

Example request

Take the code reviewer role from the collection, fit it to my Go project and run it on the latest change

Limitations

Security roles, including penetration testing, may be applied only to your own systems and with the owner's permission. Any role runs commands and edits files with your rights, so check its description before connecting. The sponsor blocks in the README have nothing to do with the roles.

How to disable. Disable the subagent in the Codex settings and delete the copied role text. The repository itself changes nothing in the system.
