What it does
Claude Content Skills packs a content team's work into Claude Code skills. Each skill plays a role: Content Factory runs the whole pipeline, Virality checks the hooks of the first three seconds, Reel Analyzer breaks down someone else's reel frame by frame and by transcript, Reel Scripter writes an original 30 to 45 second script, Reel Builder assembles the reel beat by beat with on-screen text, and Caption & Hashtags prepares the caption, tags and first comment. The `skills/` directory holds more than 50 skills, of which the README singles out 30 for Instagram. They are grouped as memory (AI Brain), study (trends, competitors, comments and content audit), create (hooks, scripts, carousels, stories, briefs for creators), distribute (repurposing, a two-week calendar, CTAs, DM scripts) and grow (series, content pillars, profile optimisation, analytics). The README's loop goes like this: find a proven viral reel in your niche, study it, shape a hook, write a script in your own words, build the reel, write the caption, post, and turn comments into leads. The authors' rule: model the format and write your own words, and send the link in a DM, keeping it out of the public reply. The AI Brain skill keeps memory in your Obsidian vault, plain Markdown files. It connects through the filesystem MCP connector in Claude Desktop: on the "wrap up" command the session is saved as a note, and next time only the relevant notes are loaded. The set's author, the company Ootto, offers a paid autopilot, but the skills work on their own.
Who it is for. For social media managers, creators and small teams who run Instagram and want to pass an idea through one pipeline instead of scattered prompts.
Good fit when
- You need to ship reels regularly and each should pass the same path from format to caption
- The hook is weak and you want ten ranked variants of the first seconds with a note on what to test first
- You have a CSV of hooks that performed well and need them grouped by psychological pattern and remixed
- One article, podcast or video must become five or more reel ideas plus a two-week calendar
- You want to give Claude permanent memory of your voice and past hits through Obsidian
Not a fit when
- You do not run Instagram: the set is tuned to that platform's reels, carousels and stories
- You want to copy someone else's reel outright: the skills advise modeling the format and writing your own words
- You do not want the agent to answer comments and message people: the Comment Responder skill exists for exactly that
- You need automatic posting without your involvement: the skills do not post by themselves, that is offered by the paid Ootto autopilot

- The set is aimed at Instagram. The cross-platform skills reformat a reel for other platforms, but the core stays Instagram-based.
- Some skills, for example Agent Reach, assume downloading reels and transcribing speech from outside sources, which may need separate tools. Check platform terms before use.
- The AI Brain skill needs an Obsidian vault and a connected filesystem MCP connector in Claude Desktop, or a Claude Project with knowledge.
- The result figures in the README come from the authors' own runs and the reader should judge the method independently.
- The README advertises the paid Ootto product. The skills themselves are free under the MIT license.
How to disable. If you installed as a plugin, run `/plugin uninstall claude-content-skills@ootto-content-skills`. If you used the `install.sh` script, delete the folders you need from `~/.claude/skills/`. AI Brain notes sit in your Obsidian vault in the `AI Brain/` folder and are deleted by hand.
FAQ
How do I install Claude Content Skills in Claude Code?
Run `/plugin marketplace add Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills` and `/plugin install claude-content-skills@ootto-content-skills`. By hand, `bash claude-content-skills/install.sh` after cloning copies the skills to `~/.claude/skills/`.
Which skill should I start with?
With `/content-factory`: it runs the whole pipeline from format search to the caption and lead loop. Each step can also run alone, for example `/viral-hook-writer` or `/reel-builder`.
Can I use the skills without Claude Code?
Yes. Every skill is a plain prompt text; open it on GitHub, copy it and paste it into claude.ai with your idea.
How does AI Brain memory work?
On the "wrap up" command the session is written as a Markdown note into the `AI Brain/` folder of your Obsidian vault, with tags and links. In the next session the skill reads only relevant notes.
What is Comment Responder?
A skill that turns comments into leads: a public reply without a link and the resource sent in a DM. Connect it deliberately so you do not break platform rules.
