What it does
JobPilot is a plugin for Claude Code and Codex. The agent searches LinkedIn, Indeed, Hiring Cafe and other boards, scores each job against the resume, tailors the resume to the posting, then fills in and sends the application. It works in an ordinary browser window on the user's computer, signed in as the user. The agent also finds the recruiter or hiring manager and drafts an email or LinkedIn message. With Gmail connected, it reads replies and matches them to applications. In Pilot mode the user sets goals and a daily limit, and the agent keeps searching and applying. Separate Upwork skills screen clients and draft proposals.
Who it is for. Job seekers with a Claude Code or Codex subscription who are tired of refilling the same forms and tweaking a resume for every posting.
Good fit when
- Dozens of applications are due and evenings go to repetitive forms.
- The resume is rewritten for each posting, and it matters which version went to which company.
- On Upwork, clients who rarely hire should be screened out and proposal drafts prepared.
- Recruiter replies land in Gmail and should be matched to sent applications.
Not a fit when
- There are few openings and each application is written by hand.
- The computer with the browser and signed-in accounts cannot run unattended.
- The job board's rules prohibit automated applications.
Example request
Find remote backend developer jobs on LinkedIn, score them against my resume and apply to the good matches, five a day at most.Limitations
A Claude Code or Codex subscription and Node.js 22 or newer are required. The agent works in a browser under the user's own accounts, so read each board's rules first: automated applications are not allowed everywhere. Reading replies and emailing recruiters need a Google OAuth client you create yourself; the email guide lists the steps. On larger models the weekly subscription limit runs out faster without sending more applications. The terminal host is a separate program, and the marketplace plugin only exists for the first run.
How to disable. Stop campaigns and Pilot mode in the dashboard, then remove the plugin through the Claude Code or Codex plugin manager. Remove the terminal host, browser sign-ins and saved resumes separately.
FAQ
Is an API key required?
No. The agent runs inside Claude Code or Codex and uses their subscription, so there is no token bill.
What do I run after installing the plugin?
`/jobpilot:setup` in Claude Code or `$setup` in Codex. It installs the terminal host, starts the agent and opens the dashboard. Running it again updates the installation.
Are emails to recruiters sent without approval?
No. Emails and messages go out only after the user approves them.
Where do I see application status?
On the JobPilot website. Every application sits in one list from sent to offer, with a separate tailored resume saved as a PDF for each.
Which job boards are supported?
LinkedIn, Indeed, Hiring Cafe and others, and you can add your own. Upwork has separate skills.

README in short
The marketplace plugin exists only to run `setup` the first time. The remaining skills and browser settings ship with the terminal host.
