What it does

Solo Founder Skills is a set of 61 skills for founders who build SaaS with AI tools such as Claude Code, Lovable, Replit or Cursor and do not write code themselves. The skills are split into ten plugins by stage of the journey: `sf-core` for orientation, `sf-strategy` for validating an idea and speccing it, `sf-design` for look and feel, `sf-build` for code and the database, `sf-ship` for release and operations, `sf-copy` for copy, `sf-seo` for search, `sf-channels` for outreach, `sf-customers` for customer work and `sf-business` covering pricing, payments, finances, legal matters and hiring. Each skill is a text guide with checklists, typical beginner mistakes and ready prompts to paste into the agent. For example, `validate` helps test demand before development, `plan` turns an idea into an MVP spec, `database` walks through a schema and access policies in Supabase, `go-live` gives a pre-launch checklist and `pricing` works through tiers and metrics. The `about-me` skill creates an ABOUT-ME.md file with your profile and writing style so the other skills write in your voice. Installation is by parts: in Claude Code plugins come from the marketplace, Cursor has its own command, and for Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot and OpenCode the `install.sh` script copies the skills you ask for into the folder your agent reads. Install `sf-core` first: its `journey` and `next` skills tell you which plugin you need at the current step.

Who it is for. For solo founders and small teams without a technical background who build SaaS with Claude Code, Lovable, Replit or Cursor and want step-by-step guidance across the whole path from idea to first customers.

Good fit when

  • You have an idea and no clear next step: the `journey` and `next` skills give the order of steps
  • Before development you need to test demand with fake door tests or surveys
  • You need an MVP spec, a Supabase database schema and a step-by-step hookup of payments and third-party services
  • The product is ready to release and you need a pre-launch checklist, monitoring and analytics setup
  • After launch you need copy, a landing page, emails, customer outreach and pricing

Not a fit when

  • You are an experienced developer: the skills explain basics and target people who do not write code themselves
  • You need one narrow skill such as an SEO audit: install just the plugin you need rather than all ten
  • You need Russian payment systems or the 152-FZ requirements: the descriptions mention Stripe, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI and FERPA
  • You need scripts and automation: every skill is text with instructions and has no executable programs

Example request

Where do I start? I have an idea for a service for accountants and I do not know which steps come before launch

Limitations

  • All 61 skills together take about 25,000 characters of descriptions that the agent loads at startup. Codex caps such a list at two percent of the context window or 8,000 characters, then shortens descriptions and may drop skills. The author advises installing only the plugins you need.
  • Version 3 was a single plugin and it no longer exists. Calls such as `/solo-founder-skills:plan` became `/sf-strategy:plan`, and when moving from the old Solo Founder Superpowers the old plugin and marketplace are removed first.
  • Cursor and Claude Code install plugins from the marketplace, and the other agents get folder copies through `install.sh`.
  • Before copying, `install.sh` deletes the skill folder of the same name in the target directory, so it will overwrite your edits to already installed skills.
  • There are no tests or example outputs in the repository, and the descriptions and README are in English.
  • MIT license.

How to disable. In Claude Code run `/plugin uninstall` with the plugin name, for example `/plugin uninstall sf-core@solo-founder-skills-marketplace`, and remove the marketplace with `/plugin marketplace remove solo-founder-skills-marketplace`. Skills copied by `install.sh` must be deleted by hand from ~/.codex/skills, .agents/skills or the folder passed in `--dest`. The ABOUT-ME.md and BRAND-IDENTITY.md files in your projects stay.

FAQ

Which plugin do I start with?

With `sf-core`. It holds six skills: `journey` shows the path from idea to launch, `next` suggests what to do now, `about-me` collects a profile, `focus` judges a task by the 80/20 rule, `prioritize` builds a roadmap with RICE scores and `glossary` explains more than fifty technical terms in plain English.

How do I call a skill manually?

With a command of the form `/plugin:skill`, for example `/sf-strategy:plan`, `/sf-channels:launch` or `/sf-business:payments`. The agent can also pick a skill by itself when your request matches its description.

What does the about-me skill do?

It creates an ABOUT-ME.md file: you write about yourself in free text and the skill analyzes your style, sentence length and vocabulary. If the file exists, it asks what changed and updates the relevant sections. The other skills read this file so the copy does not come out generic.

In what order do I go through the skills for a new product?

The author suggests ten steps: orient, validate, plan, design, build, ship, launch, grow, retain, scale. Each step names its skills, for example `validate` and `customer-research` for validation and `design-review`, `go-live`, `deploy` and `payments` for shipping.

What options does install.sh take?

`--list` shows plugins and their skills, `--codex` copies into ~/.codex/skills, `--agents` into ./.agents/skills, `--claude` into ~/.claude/skills and `--dest` into a folder you name. The script first prints the cost of the descriptions in characters and warns when the Codex cap is exceeded.

README in short

The description explains why the plugins are split, gives installation for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other agents, and the upgrade path from old versions. It then lists all skills by plugin with one-line explanations, ways to call them, a ten-stage recommended workflow for a new product, the principles the skills follow and information about the author. The root holds SKILL-STANDARD.md and CLAUDE.md with the skill formatting rules.
