Text for your agent

Clone mikhail0vvlad/gost-agent-skill into $CODEX_HOME/skills/academic-report-formatting (or $HOME/.codex/skills/academic-report-formatting if CODEX_HOME is unset) and start a new chat so Codex picks up the skill.

Other ways from the author
git clone https://github.com/mikhail0vvlad/gost-agent-skill.git "$CODEX_HOME/skills/academic-report-formatting"

Command from the README for Windows PowerShell; on Linux and macOS use the same path in POSIX notation.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

The skill helps prepare checkable academic reports: it first figures out what governs the work's format (an instructor's guideline, a template, a sample, or requirements in the assignment) rather than general assumptions about GOST. It then builds the structure only from the needed sections, separates the author's confirmed data from spots that need the author's own material, and never fills missing results with plausible-sounding text. It checks numbering of sections, figures, tables and source references, and when working with a finished .docx it asks for a visual check of the result rather than trusting automation alone.

Who it is for. For students preparing lab, practical and coursework reports and explanatory notes against a specific guideline or GOST.

Good fit when

  • You need to format a lab or practical report against an instructor's guideline
  • You need to check a finished .docx against GOST requirements
  • You have real experiment data that must be kept, not rewritten

Not a fit when

  • You need an ordinary business report or a short chat summary: the skill is not meant for that
  • You have neither a guideline nor the author's data and want fully invented text

Example request

Format this lab report per the attached guideline, here are my real measurement results

Limitations

The skill deliberately refuses to invent experiment results, sources or title-page data, so without a guideline and the author's own material it can do little. Checking a .docx requires a separate document-handling skill and a manual visual check of the result. The repo is published by a MIREA lab student, with no tests or formal support beyond the README and SKILL.md.

How to disable. Delete the academic-report-formatting folder from your CODEX_HOME/skills directory.

Security check

  • It only formats text and document structure; it does not publish or send anything

README in short

The Russian README explains the skill's purpose: keep the student's real data and never substitute invented content, describes what it does (structure, numbering, source references, .docx checks), gives two Codex install methods via git clone or manual copying into the skills folder, and shows the repo's three-file layout.

FAQ

Will the skill invent experiment results if they are missing?

No, it flags those spots as needing the author's own data instead of filling them with plausible text.

Does it work with any agent?

The README and agents/openai.yaml target Codex, but the SKILL.md format is also compatible with Claude Code.
