Why this level
- The skills work with a cloud account through an AccessKey that may allow changing and deleting resources
- ECS diagnostics runs commands inside the guest OS through Cloud Assistant

Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/alibaba-cloud-skillsDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
Alibaba Cloud Skills is the official collection of skills from Alibaba Cloud that gives an agent instructions for cloud products. The `skills` directory holds more than three hundred skills grouped by area: databases (RDS, PolarDB, ClickHouse and others), analytics and computing, security, storage, migration, containers and AI. There are also `playbooks` and `solutions` groups. One example is `alibabacloud-ecs-diagnose`. The agent first checks an ECS instance status on the cloud side, then, if needed, enters the guest OS through Cloud Assistant to look for the cause of SSH timeouts, a full disk, lag or high CPU. Installation is selective: take one skill with `--skill` or the whole set. The skills list in the README is not filled in yet, so browse the `skills` directory.
Who it is for. Engineers and administrators who run infrastructure on Alibaba Cloud and want to manage it through an agent.
Good fit when
- An ECS server is unreachable over SSH and the cause has to be found from status, events and metrics
- An agent has to work with RDS, PolarDB or another Alibaba Cloud database following vendor instructions
- Data or services are moving to Alibaba Cloud and you want to run the migration with a ready skill
- You want to review the security settings of a cloud account with skills from the `security` group
- A fresh skill release misbehaved and you need to roll back to a previous version by tag
Not a fit when
- Infrastructure sits with another provider: the skills cover only Alibaba Cloud products
- You have no credentials: the product skills need an AccessKey or an Aliyun CLI profile
- You need Qwen models, images and speech as commands: Aliyun Model Studio CLI covers that
Example request
My ECS server stopped answering over SSH. Run diagnostics and tell me what happened: instance status, disk, CPULimitations
The author calls AccessKey and a CLI profile with an AccessKey local-testing methods only and recommends the EcsRamRole role for cloud services. The ECS diagnostics skill needs Aliyun CLI 3.3.3 or newer. The README names the license Apache-2.0 while its legal section cites MIT, so clarify the license before commercial use. The Legal section places responsibility for consequences on the user.
How to disable. Delete the installed skills from the project or user skills directory. If you set keys, remove `ALIBABACLOUD_ACCESS_KEY_ID` and `ALIBABACLOUD_ACCESS_KEY_SECRET` from the environment and revoke the key in the Alibaba Cloud console.
FAQ
How do I install one skill instead of the whole set?
Add `--skill` with the skill folder name, for example `alibabacloud-ecs-diagnose`. The beta lives on the `preview` branch, and rollback uses a tag link of the form `<skill-name>-<version>`.
How do I set up access to Alibaba Cloud?
Set `ALIBABACLOUD_ACCESS_KEY_ID` and `ALIBABACLOUD_ACCESS_KEY_SECRET`, or create a profile with `aliyun configure`. For cloud services the author recommends the EcsRamRole role.
Is Aliyun CLI needed and how do I install it?
The ECS diagnostics skill needs CLI 3.3.3 or newer. It prefers the signed package from `references/cli-installation-guide.md`: the binary is downloaded, verified and installed into the user directory without sudo. The one-line `curl | bash` installer remains as a manual fallback.
How does the skill treat keys in chat?
The SKILL.md rules forbid reading, printing or asking for AccessKey values in the conversation and inserting them into commands. Access is set beforehand through a profile or environment variables.
Where can I find the skills list if the README is empty?
In the `skills` directory: paths follow group, product and skill, for example `skills/computing/ecs/alibabacloud-ecs-diagnose`.

README in short
The README is official, in English and Chinese. It covers installation with `npx skills add` (one skill, the whole set, beta, rollback to a version), manual installation from a clone, two authentication methods and notes on key safety. A separate legal section sets out the user's responsibility.

Follow the two-level diagnostic workflow (Basic + Deep) strictly. ## Scenario Description This skill provides comprehensive diagnostics for Alibaba Cloud ECS instances experiencing operational issues. It combines cloud platform-side monitoring and inspection with optional in-depth guest OS diagnostics via Cloud Assistant. **Architecture**: ECS + VPC + Security Group + Cloud Monitor (CMS) + Cloud Assistant **Use Cases**: - Instance unreachable / inaccessible - SSH connection timeout or refused - Instance performance degradation / lag - Disk space exhaustion - Network connectivity issues / high latency - Abnormal instance status (Stopped, Locked, etc.) - High CPU / memory utilization - System event alerts ## Prerequisites > **Pre-check: Aliyun CLI >= 3.3.3 required** > Run `aliyun version` to verify >= 3.3.3. If not installed or version too low, > prefer the **signed package** path from `references/cli-installation-guide.md` > (download the official universal binary, verify it, and install into your user > directory — no remote script, no sudo, no system-level writes; you can see the > full scope of changes before running anything). > The one-line remote installer `curl -fsSL https://aliyuncli.alicdn.com/setup.sh | bash` > is a **manual fallback only** — it pipes a remote script into bash and may write > into system directories via sudo, so do not run it unless you have reviewed it > and explicitly accepted that risk.
