What it does
A skill set from the BlackTwist team that takes social media content from strategy to analysis. The first skill, social-media-context-sms, collects the platform, audience, content pillars and tone, and every other skill builds on that. The strategy skills set pillars, a publishing schedule and an approach for each platform. The creation skills write standalone posts, threads with a strong opening, slide-by-slide carousel scripts and captions for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, and repackage finished material into other formats. A separate skill drafts opening lines. The analysis skills read post and account metrics, follower trends and which topics and formats perform best, then suggest edits. The text-first platforms are LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Threads and Bluesky. For Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest the skills write captions only. Through the BlackTwist MCP server the skills can schedule posts. Without it they give text and instructions for manual posting.
Who it is for. For social media managers, creators and founders who run a personal or brand presence on LinkedIn, X, Threads and Bluesky and want one set of instructions for the agent.
Good fit when
- You need a content plan: pillars, publishing frequency and monthly topics for LinkedIn and X
- You need a thread with a strong opening post based on a finished article
- You need a slide-by-slide carousel script for LinkedIn
- You want to repackage one article into a post, a thread and Instagram captions
- You want to see from your metrics which formats bring followers and get concrete edits
Not a fit when
- You need finished images or video: for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest the skills write captions only
- Posting to an account must run automatically without the BlackTwist MCP: without it the skills give only text and instructions
- Your content targets Russian platforms: the set is built for LinkedIn, X, Threads and Bluesky
- You need skills that learn the author's voice from writing samples: a set like that is listed in the pairs below
Example request
Capture my audience and tone, then draft a two-week content plan for LinkedIn and write a thread from this articleLimitations
Automatic publishing and analytics export require the BlackTwist MCP server. For visual-first platforms the skills write captions only. The skill folders hold empty evals placeholders, so no test results are published. The skills deliver text and strategy but do not set up access to social accounts without the MCP server. Install goes to .agents/skills, and Claude Code sees them through symlinks.
How to disable. Delete the skill folders from the project's .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/. If you added it as a submodule, remove the .agents/social-media-skills submodule from the repository.
FAQ
How do I install the social media skill set in Claude Code?
With npx skills add blacktwist/social-media-skills. The skills land in .agents/skills/ with symlinks into .claude/skills/. To take only some, add --skill and the names; --list shows what is available.
Do the skills need BlackTwist to work?
No. With the BlackTwist MCP server connected, the skills publish and schedule posts and pull analytics. Without it they write text and give instructions for manual posting.
Which platforms get posts and which get captions only?
Posts, threads and carousels target LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Threads and Bluesky. For Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest the caption-writer-sms skill writes captions.
How do I load the skills into Claude Code Cowork?
Download the zip files from the v1.0.0 release, then in Cowork open Customize, Skills and add each through Upload a skill. Each skill has its own archive, so upload them one by one.
What license does the set use?
MIT. You can fork it, adapt the skills to your needs and clone your fork into your projects.

README in short
A catalog of fourteen skills is split into four groups: foundation, strategy, creation and analysis. Six install routes follow: npx skills, copying folders, a Git submodule, a fork, Cowork archives and SkillKit for several agents. Below come the supported platforms and the BlackTwist MCP integration, which the authors call primary. MIT license.

--- name: post-writer-sms description: "When the user wants to write a social media post for LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, or YouTube. Also use when the user mentions 'write a post,' 'draft a post,' 'LinkedIn post,' 'tweet,' 'Threads post,' 'Bluesky post,' 'Facebook post,' 'Instagram post,' 'TikTok post,' 'Pinterest pin,' 'YouTube Community post,' 'social media post,' 'help me write,' or shares a topic and wants it turned into a post. For deeper visual-platform caption writing, see caption-writer-sms. For multi-part content, see thread-writer-sms. For carousels, see carousel-writer-sms. For opening lines, see hook-writer-sms." metadata: version: 1.2.0 --- # Post Writer ## When to Use - User asks to **write a post** or draft social media content - User mentions "write a post," "draft a post," or "LinkedIn post" - User says "tweet," "Threads post," "Bluesky post," or "social media post" - User says "help me write" or shares a topic and wants it turned into a post - User provides a rough draft and wants it refined for a specific platform - User wants a single standalone post (not a thread or carousel) ## Role You are an expert social media writer who crafts platform-native posts that stop the scroll, match the user's authentic voice, and drive real engagement. You know the structural rules, character limits, and cultural norms of every major platform — and you know when to break them. ## Context Check Before writing, read `.agents/social-media-context-sms.md` to understand the user's voice, tone, content pillars, platform preferences, and example posts. Use this file to match vocabulary, sentence structure, punctuation habits, and emotional register. If the file does not exist, say: > "I don't see a social media context file yet. Run the `social-media-context-sms` skill first to capture your voice and preferences — it takes about 5 minutes and makes every post I write sound like you." --- ## Input Gathering Ask only for what the user has not already provided: - **Topic or idea** — or a rough draft you want refined - **Target platform(s)** — LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Threads, Bluesky, or multiple - **Content type** — educational, storytelling, promotional, engagement, or personal - **Specific angle or CTA** — what should the reader think, feel, or do? If the user gives you a topic and a platform, start writing — don't over-ask. ---
