What it does
Chat SDK is the TypeScript `chat` package where bot logic is written once and adapters handle the connection to platforms: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord, Telegram, GitHub, Linear and WhatsApp. The `chat-sdk` skill introduces the agent to the package so it knows the API, adapter patterns and project conventions before writing code. The agent scaffolds a bot with `create-chat-sdk`, handles mentions, direct messages, reactions, slash commands, cards, modals and files, streams model responses and writes a custom adapter. The skill takes reference material from the documentation and guides inside `node_modules/chat`, and suggests `npm i chat` when the package is missing.
Who it is for. Developers of workplace and community bots who need one codebase for several messengers with streamed model replies.

The skill helps write code on the `chat` package and relies on documentation under `node_modules/chat`, so before the package is installed the agent only suggests `npm i chat`. Each platform gets its own adapter, for example `@chat-adapter/slack`, and the developer creates the app tokens and keys. Bot state is stored by a state adapter, which is Redis in the README examples. The skill file sits in `apps/docs/public/.well-known/agent-skills/chat-sdk`. Platforms such as Slack or Discord require app configuration on their side.
How to disable. Delete the `chat-sdk` skill folder from the agent skills directory. Installed `chat` and adapter packages and the bot app created in Slack or Discord are removed separately.
