What it does
The jianying-video-gen skill automates the web version of Jianying (Xiaoyunque, xyq.jianying.com) and generates clips there with the Seedance 2.0 model. The agent gets a text description, a picture or a finished clip, and the script fills in the form, submits the job and downloads the result. There are four modes: from text, from an image, from a reference video, and extending an existing clip. It runs through `jianying_worker.py` with the parameters `--prompt`, `--duration` (5s, 10s or 15s), `--ratio`, `--model` (Seedance 2.0 or Seedance 2.0 Fast), `--ref-image`, `--ref-video`, `--extend-url`, `--cookies` and `--output-dir`. Login uses a `cookies.json` that the user exports from their own browser. For a reference video the script reads the clip size with ffprobe and fits it to the allowed range from 640×640 to 834×1112 using ffmpeg. After submitting, the script catches the job identifier, opens the result page, waits for the clip and downloads the MP4 with curl. The `--dry-run` mode fills in the form without submitting and saves screenshots of the steps.
Who it is for. Short-video makers with a Jianying account who need to queue many clips for generation from the terminal without manual clicks.
Good fit when
- A series of clips is needed from a list of prompts, and filling in the site form by hand takes an evening
- A still picture has to be brought to life: the camera pans slowly left to right, the character moves
- A finished clip gets a new style from a reference video, for example in the manner of Miyazaki
- A generated clip is extended by 5 to 15 seconds with the same characters and camera
Not a fit when
- There is no Jianying account: without cookie login the script cannot generate anything
- Jobs go through the official API of another service, such as Kling or Atlas Cloud: the skill works only with the Jianying site
- The site interface changed: the script relies on the current markup and may break after an update

- Python 3.9 or newer, Playwright with Chromium and a `cookies.json` from the browser are required. A reference video also needs ffmpeg and ffprobe.
- Every clip spends site credits: Seedance 2.0 Fast takes 3 credits per second, Seedance 2.0 takes 5.
- Cookies expire and must be exported again. Generation takes 3 to 5 minutes, and the wait is capped at about 20 minutes.
- The README and SKILL.md are in Chinese. The last commit was in April 2026.
How to disable. Delete the jianying-video-gen folder from the agent skills directory and the `cookies.json` file. To cut account access completely, sign out of Jianying in the browser and reset the session.
FAQ
How do I get cookies.json for login?
Sign in to xyq.jianying.com in the browser, export cookies with an extension such as EditThisCookie and save the file as `cookies.json` in the agent working directory. A custom path goes in the `--cookies` parameter.
How much does a 10-second clip cost?
Seedance 2.0 Fast costs 30 credits, Seedance 2.0 costs 50. To test a prompt the author advises Fast and 5 seconds, which is 15 credits.
How do I check that the form is filled in correctly?
Run the script with `--dry-run`: it fills in the form without submitting and saves `step_*.png` screenshots. With a reference video it also prints a JSON of the form state.
What if the clip did not appear?
First let the script wait: generation usually takes 3 to 5 minutes, with a wait limit of about 20. If time ran out, `find_latest_task.py` finds the identifier of the latest job in Jianying and `poll_and_download.py` fetches the finished clip by it.
Can I run the script without an agent?
Yes, `python3 jianying-video-gen/scripts/jianying_worker.py --prompt "description" --duration 10s --model "Seedance 2.0"` works from the terminal. The author presents this as a manual run for testing.
