What it does
Library Skills solves the task of current skills: libraries ship skills about how to use them themselves, and the tool pulls such skills into your project. It creates relative symlinks that can be committed to Git. Launch: `uvx library-skills` or `npx library-skills`. The author's idea is for agents to use libraries as their authors intended and always with current information. The author is Sebastián Ramírez, the creator of FastAPI. Documentation at library-skills.io. Version 0.0.19 from 21.06.2026, MIT license.
Who it is for. For developers who want an agent to use the project's libraries correctly and by the current documentation of the authors themselves.
Good fit when
- You need to pull into the project the skills shipped by the libraries you use
- You need skills that update together with library versions
- You need skills as links that can be kept in Git
Not a fit when
- The libraries you use ship no skills
- You are not ready for links in the project created by a tool
Example request
Pull into the project the skills of the libraries we use and show which symlinks appearedLimitations
The tool creates relative symlinks in the project to the libraries' skills: check what it pulled in before committing. The value depends on whether your libraries ship skills. Version 0.0.x, so behavior may change. Access is extended: the tool writes into the project.
How to disable. Delete the created symlinks from the project's skills directory and run nothing: the tool does not need to be installed.
