What it does
Agent Skill Manager finds and installs skills for coding agents. Before installing it scans a skill for shell execution, network calls and credential leaks. Per the README it works with no accounts and no telemetry. Installation: `npm install -g agent-skill-manager` or the script `curl -sSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/luongnv89/asm/main/install.sh | bash`. Version 2.20.1 from 13.09.2026, MIT license, TypeScript. It is a manager close in purpose to our SkillFoxx CLI: both install skills for different agents.
Who it is for. For people who install many skills and want to check them before installing instead of trusting other people's files blindly.
Good fit when
- You need to search and install skills from the command line
- You need a skill checked for dangerous actions before installing
- You need a manager with no accounts and no telemetry
Not a fit when
- You are not ready for a manager to put files into agents' skill directories
- You need a review of a skill's source code: the scanner looks for typical dangerous patterns
Example request
Find a skill for working with PDF, check it before installing and show what the check foundLimitations
The manager writes skills into agents' directories, so it has extended access to them. The pre-install check looks for typical dangerous patterns and does not replace reading the skill. Installing by an internet script executes someone else's code: read it before running or install through npm. Version 2.20.1 from 13.09.2026.
How to disable. Remove the manager with npm uninstall -g agent-skill-manager and the skills it installed from the agents' directories.
