Extended access
Why this level
- The Amazon, Zomato and X skills drive a browser with your session cookies and can act from your account
- The video download skills teach the agent to run yt-dlp, and the HyperFrames promo skills download models and run npx
- A `SKILL.md` shapes agent behavior, so install only the skills you need and read their text
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/mercury-skillsDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
Mercury Skills is an open library of ready `SKILL.md` files for AI agents: more than 130 skills in 23 categories. Most skills cover development (16), AI and ML (11), automation (11), shops and restaurants (10), backend (9) and frontend (8). There is also DevOps, mobile, PDF, presentations, finance and law, education, career and health. Each skill is one file with a YAML header (name, description, version, category, tags) and a body with a method, scoring criteria and advice. There are three ways to install. From the Mercury agent CLI with `mercury skills install frontend/react-patterns`: the skill lands in `~/.mercury/skills/`. From the skills.mercuryagent.sh site, where each skill has a ready install line for its agent. Or by cloning the repository and copying the folders you need into a skills directory, such as `.claude/skills/` for Claude Code. Some skills work with outside services. Amazon and Zomato run through browser automation, an Amazon checkout is prepared and handed to a person, and Zomato returns a payment link. There are skills for X/Twitter, video downloads through yt-dlp and promo videos for GitHub repositories on HyperFrames. The author marks `twitter-account-manager` as educational.
Who it is for. Developers and small teams who want ready skills for frontend, DevOps, documents and business instead of writing their own from scratch.
Good fit when
- You need a ready set of skills for a stack: React, Next.js, Tailwind, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Android or iOS
- An agent needs playbooks for code review, debugging, test strategy and architecture decision records (ADR)
- A shop or restaurant needs inventory, menu engineering, shift scheduling, review replies and a daily pulse
- You build documents: invoices, reports, branded PDFs and Markdown to PDF typeset with LaTeX
- One `SKILL.md` format must work across agents: Mercury, Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenClaw, Hermes, Cursor and Gemini CLI
Not a fit when
- You need one narrow skill worked out in depth: the library's skills are general and fit in a single file
- You need rules for your own codebase: ready skills do not know your conventions and you will have to extend them
- You need a purchase made with no person involved: the Amazon skill prepares an order and hands over the checkout
- The agent must post to X on its own with no confirmation: the X/Twitter skill is built around human-confirmed actions
Example request
Use the code-review skill to review my last commit, then fix the Dockerfile following the docker-patterns skillLimitations
- A ready installer exists only for the Mercury agent (`mercury skills install`); for other agents the skill folders are copied by hand.
- The Amazon, Zomato and X skills run through a browser and session cookies, so they depend on changes to those sites. The author calls `twitter-account-manager` educational.
- The video download skills rely on yt-dlp, and the legal side of downloading is yours to judge.
- The HyperFrames commands in `hyperframes-media` download models on first run and cache them in `~/.cache/hyperframes/`.
How to disable. Delete the skill folder from the agent's skills directory: a subfolder of `~/.mercury/skills/` for Mercury, `.claude/skills/` for Claude Code. A cloned repository can be removed whole, since skills stay only where you copied them.
FAQ
How do I install a Mercury Skills skill in Claude Code?
Clone the repository and copy the folder of the skill you need from `categories/` into `.claude/skills/`. Or open the skill's page on skills.mercuryagent.sh and take the ready install line for Claude Code.
Do I need the Mercury agent?
No. The `mercury` CLI is handy for installing, but the `SKILL.md` format is the same, and the files fit Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenClaw, Hermes, Cursor and Gemini CLI.
Where can I browse and search the skills?
The list with descriptions is in the repository's `CATALOG.md`. Search, a leaderboard and skill pages live on skills.mercuryagent.sh, and a `/api/feed.json` feed is available for tools.
Which skills exist for shops and restaurants?
The `shop-restaurant` category has ten skills: inventory, menu engineering, shift scheduling, review replies, a daily pulse, tables, pricing, social posts, Zomato ordering and an Amazon assistant.
What license does Mercury Skills use?
MIT. The skills can be copied and changed, and new ones are accepted through a pull request under the rules in `CONTRIBUTING.md`.

README in short
The README opens with a quick start with three install paths and a table of skills directories for seven agents. Then come the library's strengths, a description of the skills.mercuryagent.sh site, a table of 23 categories, the `SKILL.md` format and a block on the Mercury agent. It ends with the project ecosystem, contribution rules and the MIT license.
