Broad access
Why this level
- The agent works in a browser where you are already logged in to shops and the board-order service and builds carts.
- The optional watcher presses permission cards on its own that would otherwise need your confirmation.
- A purchase reaches the pre-payment page and payment stays with a human.
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add skills/pcb-skillDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
PCB skill is a skill for Claude Code and Codex on the desktop. It takes a project through four phases: concept, schematic with sourcing, placement and routing, then fabrication and purchase. The agent edits schematics and boards in EasyEDA Pro over an MCP bridge and reads prices and stock from live pages in an already logged-in browser. Each phase has a gate. For the schematic, these are netlist assertions. For the board, clearance, module-body, drill and mask checks plus independent Gerber verification. Scripts live in `scripts/placement`, `scripts/routing` and `scripts/verify`. Prices not read from a live page are labelled as estimates. The agent drives to the pre-payment page and hands the click to a human.
Who it is for. Hobbyist electronics builders and small teams who solder boards by hand and want an agent to take over schematic, sourcing and checking chores.
Good fit when
- A device idea exists but there is no board or BOM yet.
- The board must fit JLC's free prototype limits.
- A board was autorouted and needs checking for clearances and placement errors.
- Parts are matched against stock on hand and LCSC prices.
Not a fit when
- The board needs BGA parts or high frequencies where an engineer's judgment matters.
- EasyEDA Pro and a browser logged in to shops are unavailable.
- The agent must not touch logged-in supplier accounts.
Example request
Design a board for an ESP32 temperature sensor with USB power, source the parts on LCSC and stop before payment.Limitations
It works with desktop Claude Code and Codex and needs EasyEDA Pro with an MCP bridge. It also needs a browser with the agent extension where you are already logged in to parts shops and the board-order service. Some steps involve Chinese marketplaces. The rules come from one real board, so unusual projects need extra checking. The optional approval watcher presses permission cards for you: install it only if you understand what it does.
How to disable. Delete `~/.claude/skills/pcb` (or `~/.codex/skills/pcb`), stop the approval watcher and log out of shop accounts in the agent's browser.
FAQ
Does the agent pay for the order?
No. It drives the cart to the pre-payment page and a human makes the click. The approval watcher deliberately skips carts and payment.
What must be installed first?
EasyEDA Pro with the MCP bridge and desktop Claude Code or Codex. The rest is listed in `setup/README.md`.
Why copy three folders?
`SKILL.md` loads `references/`, `scripts/` and `setup/` as siblings. Copying only `skills/pcb/` leaves the checkers and setup guides missing.
What boards is it aimed at?
Boards assembled by hand: no bottom-terminated packages, reachable pads and a sensible soldering order. The goal is to stay inside JLC's free prototype envelope.
Can I use Cursor?
The README names desktop Claude Code and Codex. No path is described for other clients.

README in short
Every project phase ends with a gate: the schematic passes netlist assertions and the board passes clearance checks and independent Gerber verification.
