Why this level

  • Claude Code edits `.tmdl` files with approval and writes reports into project folders.

Access and checks

How we review

Extended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

  • Claude Code edits `.tmdl` files with approval and writes reports into project folders.
  • In Claude.ai the model content, including table names and measures, goes into the conversation when files are attached.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.

What it does

Three independent skills for Power BI projects in the PBIP format. `pbi-modelo-review` checks a model against 23 rules in six groups (modeling, relationships, performance, naming, DAX, documentation) and returns a 0 to 100 score with a prioritized issue list as an HTML report and Markdown. `pbi-doc` builds a navigable mini-site with tables, typed columns, measure explanations, an SVG relationship diagram and dependencies, plus five Markdown files for git. `pbi-dax-create` writes a DAX measure from a description in Portuguese: it reads the real model's tables, columns and measures, adopts its naming style, prefers `DIVIDE` over plain division and warns about a similar existing measure. The skill always asks for confirmation before applying a change.

Who it is for. Analysts and BI developers who inherited an undocumented model or want to check their own before handing it over.

Good fit when

  • A model with four hundred measures came from a colleague and cannot be understood in a day.
  • Before a migration or scale-up, a data lead asks for an independent audit.
  • A consultant joins a client project and gets a quality map of the model.
  • A new DAX measure is needed in the style of the existing ones, for example average ticket.
  • Model documentation lives in git and versions are compared through diff.

Not a fit when

  • The project is still in the binary `.pbix` format: the skills need a PBIP folder with `.tmdl` files.
  • You want to optimize one specific query: that skill, `/pbi-perf`, is only planned.
  • The model content cannot be uploaded to Claude.ai, where `.tmdl` files are attached to the chat.

Example request

Audit the model in the `SemanticModel/` folder and show the score with a prioritized issue list.

Limitations

Save the project as PBIP through Save as in Power BI Desktop; the skills do not read a binary `.pbix`. In free Claude.ai the `.tmdl` files are attached to every conversation, while Claude Code reads them from disk and may edit `.tmdl` with approval. Each skill folder works independently and any of them can be installed alone. Documentation, measure explanations and instructions are in Portuguese. Version 0.1.1 from September 2026.

How to disable. Delete the `pbi-modelo-review`, `pbi-doc` and `pbi-dax-create` folders from `~/.claude/skills/` or remove the skills in Claude.ai. Delete the `_review/` and `_docs/` folders created in the project by hand.

FAQ

How do I install the skills in Claude Code?

Clone the repository and run `cp -r claude-code/* ~/.claude/skills/`. If you need one skill, copy only its folder.

Do the skills work in free Claude.ai?

Yes, the Free plan is enough. Download a ZIP from `claude-web/`, upload it as a skill and attach `.tmdl` files to the conversation. The result arrives as an HTML artifact and a downloadable file.

What should I do with a `.pbix` file?

Save the project as PBIP: Power BI Desktop turns the model into a folder of text files. Without PBIP, `pbi-modelo-review` replies with a short instruction and runs nothing.

How do the skills differ from a Power BI MCP server?

The skills read only the attached `.tmdl` files, no persistent server runs and no always-allow prompt is needed. The authors consider this path acceptable for corporate clients and LGPD requirements.

What does the model audit check?

23 rules in six groups: modeling, relationships, performance, naming, DAX and documentation. The skill finds needless bidirectional relationships, Auto Date/Time, DAX antipatterns and hardcoded personal paths.

README in short

The repository ships the same three skills in two folders: `claude-code/` for copying and `claude-web/` with ZIP archives for Claude.ai. `scripts/build-zips.py` rebuilds the archives. The author, the Xperiun school, presents the set as a free starting point.

name: pbi-modelo-review
description: Audita modelo Power BI (PBIP) e gera relatório priorizado com anti-patterns, score 0-100 e recomendações acionáveis.

> **📦 Parte do [xperiun/skills-xperiun-free](https://github.com/xperiun/skills-xperiun-free):** pasta `claude-code/pbi-modelo-review/` (Claude Code) + `claude-web/pbi-modelo-review.zip` (upload no Claude.ai).

   - `Power BI Desktop → File → Save as → Power BI Project (.pbip)`

A skill detecta automaticamente o ambiente e adapta input/output:

### Modo Code (Claude Code · Desktop · file-based)
- **Detecção**: tenho acesso a filesystem do usuário e a pasta atual contém `.SemanticModel/`
- **Idempotente**: rodar 2x sobrescreve
