What it does
self-media-compliance-review runs a video through the rules of Chinese platforms before publishing: WeChat Channels, WeChat articles, Douyin, Kuaishou, Bilibili and Xiaohongshu. It checks frames, audio, text, cover, comments, product links, qualifications and traffic diversion. The result is a report with a `Pass`, `Low`, `Medium`, `High` or `Blocker` level, a timecode or subtitle line and a concrete fix. A separate e-commerce block compares video, product page and voice-over, checks efficacy claims, prices and gifts, and applies Qianchuan low-quality creative criteria. A local video is analysed by `tools/analyze_video.py`: opening seconds, scene cuts, frames, audio track and subtitles. Search over rules and cases runs offline.
Who it is for. Short-video authors and editors, SMM teams and sellers in China who need a video checked before upload.
Good fit when
- A finished cut is checked before upload to Douyin and Xiaohongshu.
- Qianchuan ad material is checked against low-quality criteria.
- A seller matches the video, the product page and the host's words.
- An author investigates why a Xiaohongshu note has zero views and prepares appeal materials.
Not a fit when
- You need a legal opinion: the project itself calls it a supporting check.
- The platform is not on the list: you would add its rules to `references/` yourself.
- You need fresh platform decisions with no setup: live social search is enabled separately.

Rules and cases live in the repository and are updated by hand, so they age with the platforms. Live social search is off by default: it needs a TikHub key or a login to your own account through MediaCrawler. The author warns that such collection can get an account blocked, and the MediaCrawler licence allows non-commercial study only. Whisper transcription is optional and may download a model. Without it audio counts as unchecked and the skill does not issue `Pass`.
How to disable. Delete the skill folder from the agent skills directory. If you installed MediaCrawler, delete `vendor/` and local data in `local/mc_output/`.
