What it does
The Go 1.27.1 server works over stdio and connects an agent to the official seller Avito Business API. It reads the profile with the account id (`get_profile`), own listings with filters and pagination (`list_items`) and one listing by number (`get_item`). The price is changed with the `update_item_price` tool. For correspondence there are `list_chats`, `get_chat`, `list_messages`, `send_message` and `mark_chat_read`. The agent passes the account id for chats as the `user_id` argument and the server does not fill it in itself. Authorization uses OAuth2 Client Credentials with `AVITO_CLIENT_ID` and `AVITO_CLIENT_SECRET` or a ready `AVITO_ACCESS_TOKEN`. Keys are created in the seller cabinet: "Настройки", "Avito API", "Регистрация нового приложения". Methods come from a copy of the Avito catalog OpenAPI. Without keys the server starts and lists tools, but requests return an error. For Codex Desktop on macOS the README describes passing variables through `env_vars` and the `scripts/run-with-env-file.sh` script.
Who it is for. Sellers and shops on Avito who want to manage listings and buyer correspondence through an agent on the official API.
Good fit when
- Prices for a group of your own listings are changed with a phrase to the agent instead of by hand in the cabinet
- Unread chats are sorted out and the agent prepares replies to buyers
- The list of active listings is exported with filters and pagination
- Avito API keys are already obtained and an MCP on a ready API is wanted instead of site parsing
Not a fit when
- A buyer needs a search through other peoples listings: the Business API works with your own seller account
- There is no suitable subscription or main account key for chats
- Employee listings are needed: the `list_items` method does not return them
Example request
Show my active listings and lower the price by 5 percent in each, but first name the list and the new prices.MCP

Environment variables
AVITO_CLIENT_ID- Avito API application id.
AVITO_CLIENT_SECRETsecret- Avito API application secret.
AVITO_ACCESS_TOKENsecret- A ready token, takes priority over the key pair.
AVITO_PROFILE_ID- Account id for the `user_id` argument of chat tools.
Limitations
Go 1.27.1 is needed to build with `go build -o avito-mcp ./cmd/avito-mcp`, Avito API keys from the seller cabinet and, for chats, a suitable subscription with the main account key. `AVITO_PROFILE_ID` sets the account id for the `user_id` argument and the server does not fill it in itself.
Avito allows up to 25 `list_items` calls per minute and the method does not return employee listings. Codex opened from the Dock or Finder usually does not see variables from `~/.zshrc`, so pass them through `env_vars` or a file with 0600 permissions. Do not add the key file to Git.
How to disable. Remove the `avito` entry from the MCP client configuration and revoke the application in the Avito API settings.
FAQ
How do I build and connect avito-mcp?
Run `go build -o avito-mcp ./cmd/avito-mcp`, set `AVITO_CLIENT_ID` and `AVITO_CLIENT_SECRET` and put the binary path into the MCP client configuration.
Where do I get Avito API keys?
In the seller cabinet: "Настройки", then "Avito API" and "Регистрация нового приложения". Chats need a suitable subscription.
What does the server do without keys?
It starts and lists the tools, but every request to Avito returns an error until authorization is configured.
Which tools change data?
`update_item_price` changes a listing price, `send_message` sends a message to a chat and `mark_chat_read` marks a chat as read. The rest only read.
Can a ready token replace the keys?
Yes, set `AVITO_ACCESS_TOKEN`. If both options are set, the ready token is used.
