What it does
aurlune is a set of a Yandex Music client library, the aurluned daemon that plays music via mpv over IPC with MPRIS integration and KDE notifications, the lune CLI, and the aurlune-mcp MCP server for Claude. The MCP tools proxy player commands: state, play, pause, next, prev, queue, local and remote search, track download, like, facet- and taste-profile-based picks, history and feedback. Before any control, the player_state tool checks who started playback and forbids the agent from starting or stopping music on its own if someone else started it and the user did not explicitly ask this session. The player has no concept of mood itself: the agent picks a track via facets and taste_profile, explains the choice, and later asks for feedback through the feedback tool. Downloaded tracks are not auto-liked in Yandex Music; a like only happens on the user's explicit word.

The verified environment is Arch Linux, KDE Plasma, Wayland, mpv 0.40 or newer, and Rust 1.98 to build. You need a Yandex Music token in ~/.config/ym/token with 0600 permissions. The project builds from source with cargo build; there are no ready packages. A large part of the repository is speckit framework specs and templates, not just the player code.
How to disable. Stop the daemon with lune daemon stop, remove its autostart, and delete the aurlune entry from your MCP client configuration.
