Yandex Music MCP for taste analysis
Yandex Music MCP
A single-file, zero-install Yandex Music MCP server via uv: likes, playlists, search and taste analysis
Medium risk
We rate an entry medium when the tool runs code, makes network calls or reads project files. Check what exactly it does before installing.

This is third-party code. Review the repository files before installing.
What it does
The server is a single Python file with PEP 723 inline dependencies; uv installs them on first run, no separate setup needed. Tools: connection and Plus-status check, paginated liked tracks, playlist listing and their tracks, catalog search, playlist creation, adding and removing tracks, liking tracks. The README offers a ready scenario: the agent reads several pages of likes, runs a short interview about taste and listening scenarios, and builds personal playlists from that.
Who it is for. For those who want to hook up Yandex Music to Claude quickly with no build step, and get their taste analyzed.
Good fit when
- You want one-line install with no cloning or build step: just uv and a token
- You want a ready taste-analysis scenario that builds playlists for your life scenarios
- It works with any MCP client, not only Claude Code and Desktop
Not a fit when
- You need genre analysis or an instrumental-track filter: not present here, only basic operations
- You need actual audio playback: the server only reads and changes data, it does not play music
Example request
Analyze my likes, what do I even listen to, and build a 40-minute playlist for the ride homeLimitations
It uses Yandex Music's private API via the MarshalX/yandex-music-api library; there is no official public API. The first run takes 30-60 seconds while uv resolves dependencies. The token can be invalidated by a password change or session revoke, requiring reissue.
How to disable. Remove the yandex-music block from mcpServers in your client configuration.

README in short
The README shows a build-free quick start via uv, getting a token with a Chrome extension, connecting to Claude Desktop and Claude Code, a table of 9 tools, a ready prompt for taste analysis and scenario-based playlist creation, a troubleshooting section, and a short Russian summary at the end.
