What it does

freee-mcp lets an agent work with data in freee, a Japanese cloud business platform. The server calls the API, validates requests against OpenAPI schemas and refreshes OAuth 2.0 with PKCE tokens itself. It supports 12 APIs: accounting, HR and payroll, invoicing, time tracking, sales, IT asset management, fixed assets, contractors, surveys, business registration, performance reviews and tax returns. You can work with one of several companies and switch between them on the fly. The tools are simple: one per HTTP method (freee_api_get, post, put, patch, delete) and freee_api_list_paths for listing paths, plus service commands such as freee_authenticate, freee_list_companies and freee_set_current_company. freee Sign e-signature contracts are handled by a separate freee-sign-mcp command. The server ships with the freee-api-skill skill. It loads the reference for the needed API into context along with recipes: how to record a deal, an expense request, an invoice, a timesheet, how to work with fixed assets and a tax return. The agent gets exact paths and parameters without bloating the context. A request like "create this client's invoice based on last month's" works by consulting earlier documents.

Who it is for. For accountants, finance staff and HR specialists who keep their books in freee and want to run it from Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.

Limitations

A freee account is required. The surveys, business registration and performance review modules are available only in the remote version, and tax returns need the right environment, OAuth client, plan and user permissions. A remote MCP for freee Sign is not ready; signatures work only through the local freee-sign-mcp command. For a local run you must register an app in the freee app store with the callback address http://127.0.0.1:54321/callback. If a request includes company_id it must match the current company, or the server returns an error. The documentation is in Japanese and the service is aimed at Japanese companies.

How to disable. In Claude and Claude Desktop remove the freee custom connector, and in MCP config delete the freee block. For the Claude Code plugin run /plugin uninstall freee-mcp@freee-mcp-marketplace. You can also revoke access in the app settings in the freee store. Local auth data is cleared by the freee_clear_auth tool.
