What it does

MCP Teams Server lets an agent read Microsoft Teams channel messages, create threads with people mentions and reply in them. Docker launch: `docker run --env-file .env -it inditextech/mcp-teams-server`, and for HTTP add `-p 8000:8000` and the `--transport streamable-http` flag. It needs an app registration in Azure and variables in a `.env` file following `sample.env`. Version 1.0.15 from 02.10.2026, Apache-2.0 license. The code was published by Inditex, a retail company.

Who it is for. For Microsoft 365 teams who want an agent to read Teams discussions and reply in threads.

Good fit when

  • An agent has to read Teams channel messages
  • You need threads with mentions from an agent
  • You need an MCP server for Teams in Docker

Not a fit when

  • You cannot let an agent write in the app's name in working channels
  • You have no access to app registration in Azure

Example request

Read the latest messages of the testing channel and reply in the thread mentioning the person on duty

Limitations

The agent writes messages in the name of the registered app and reads channels it was added to, so access is extended. Start with a test channel and give the app minimal rights. This is public code from Inditex and not a Microsoft product.

How to disable. Stop the container, remove the server entry from the client and the app in Azure together with its secrets.
