What it does
Vibe Prospecting MCP is a remote server at `https://vibeprospecting.explorium.ai/mcp`. Nothing runs locally: the client connects through a single URL, and the first call opens a browser for an OAuth sign-in. Through the server the agent searches companies by name, domain, industry, size, region and tech stack. It then finds people in them with titles and profiles and gathers company data: revenue, technologies, funding, competitors. The server returns a 5–10 row sample first, and the full set is processed and exported to CSV only on an explicit request, so credits go only to the full export. The repository holds instructions for Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Cowork, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Manus and Hermes. For Gemini CLI it also ships an extension installed with `gemini extensions install`.
Who it is for. Lead-generation specialists and sales heads who work in a Claude Desktop, Cowork or Manus chat and do not want to install tools on the machine.
Good fit when
- In Claude Desktop or Manus you want to find companies by industry and headcount fast, with no CLI or scripts
- Before a partner meeting you want contacts of people who could promote a collaboration
- An account review of Palo Alto Networks or Amazon rests on revenue, competitors and business challenges
- Engineering leaders at large companies are to be gathered into one list
- The ten-row sample looked right, and now the full set needs exporting to CSV
Not a fit when
- You need a skill with a step-by-step flow and enrichment of a whole CSV file: the vendor ships a separate plugin with the `vpai` tool for that
- The server does not open in Claude Desktop or Cowork: it must be reachable from Anthropic's cloud at its public address
- An old local `uvx vibeprospecting-mcp` launch is left: that route is deprecated, connect over HTTP
- The agent has no internet access: the server is remote
Example request
Find B2B SaaS companies in New York with 50 to 200 people, enrich their decision-makers and export the list to CSVMCP
- Transport
- http
- Authentication
- OAuth
Limitations
- A full export spends credits; prices and limits are on the vendor's site, not in the repository.
- In Claude Desktop and Cowork the server is added by hand through the connector interface, with no install command.
- The old local stdio launch through `uvx` is deprecated and gives error `-32000` in Claude Code.
- Contacts and profiles come from the Explorium base, and its completeness is not guaranteed by the author.
How to disable. In Claude Code run `claude mcp remove vibe-prospecting`. In Codex and Hermes remove the server from the settings, and in Claude Desktop delete the connector under Connectors.
FAQ
How do I connect Vibe Prospecting MCP to Claude Code?
Run `claude mcp add --transport http vibe-prospecting https://vibeprospecting.explorium.ai/mcp`, restart Claude Code and make a request. The first call opens a browser for sign-in. `claude mcp list` confirms the connection.
Are API keys required?
No. Sign-in runs through OAuth in the browser, with no keys to copy or store. Searching and the 5–10 row sample count as lightweight, and credits go to the full export.
How does the server differ from the Vibe Prospecting plugin?
The server connects the data as a connector and works in any MCP client, including Claude Desktop, Manus and Hermes. The plugin adds a skill and the `vpai` tool, which enriches local CSV files. In Claude Code and Codex the vendor recommends the plugin when both fit.
What should I do about `Failed to connect` in Claude Code?
Most likely an old local launch through `uvx vibeprospecting-mcp` is still registered. Remove it with `claude mcp remove vibe-prospecting` and add the server again with the `--transport http` flag.
How do I connect the server to Codex?
Run `codex mcp add vibe-prospecting --url https://vibeprospecting.explorium.ai/mcp`: Codex detects OAuth itself. The connection shows in `codex mcp list`, and `codex mcp login vibe-prospecting` signs in again. If your version has no OAuth, add the `mcp-remote` bridge through `npx` in `~/.codex/config.toml`.
