What it does
Creative Writing Skills builds a team of agents around your manuscript. The lead, muse, talks through your idea and routes the work: a brainstormer offers plot and arc options, an outliner lays the chosen direction out into arcs, chapters and beats, a writer drafts prose from a brief and style references. A critic reviews a draft along one craft axis at a time, an editor gives a holistic book-editor pass across structure, voice, line quality and proofing. There are checking agents too. Reader-sim reacts moment by moment like a first-time reader, character-sim speaks as a character to find a voice, continuity-checker cross-references the text against canon and flags contradictions, style-creator builds a style file from your prose samples. The writer then drafts new scenes in that voice. Project memory lives in a kb folder: characters, world, timeline, canon, styles and tracked issues. The project-setup command creates the initial structure, the CLAUDE.md file and the kb. Thirteen skills carry the methodology: prose modes, scene and genre craft, writing principles, planning, editorial review, story memory. The llm-writing skill catches unchosen language-model defaults while preserving deliberate ambiguity and repetition.

All agents work in Claude Code, Cowork and Mars (Meridian). In a plain claude.ai chat agents are grayed out and only skills are available, where the single creative-writing-muse skill imitates muse mode inside one conversation. Muse hands fact extraction into the knowledge base to the kb-lead agent from meridian-base, or does it directly where no such agent exists. The agent and skill texts are written in English. The set works best when the project is already laid out in story, work and kb folders: then agents find canon, styles and drafts without hints. project-setup runs once for each new project.
How to disable. Run /plugin uninstall creative-writing-skills@cw. The plugin does not delete the story, work and kb folders in your project: they hold your manuscript and notes.

How do I install Creative Writing Skills in Claude Code?
Run /plugin marketplace add haowjy/creative-writing-skills and /plugin install creative-writing-skills@cw. Then start a session with claude --agent creative-writing-skills:muse and call /creative-writing-skills:project-setup once.
Can I use the plugin in claude.ai without Claude Code?
Yes, skills load by adding the marketplace under Personal plugins or by uploading the .skill files from the latest release. Agents are unavailable in a plain chat, but the creative-writing-muse skill turns the chat into a writing partner.
How does the plugin pass my style to the writer agent?
The style-creator agent analyzes samples of your prose and creates a style file in kb/styles. The writer takes it as a reference and drafts new scenes in the same voice.
What is stored in the kb folder?
Styles, characters, world, timeline, canon and the problems you track. Agents read facts from there, so they stay consistent with what the manuscript has already settled.
How is the plugin different from a plain Claude chat about a novel?
In a plain chat agreements get forgotten. Here canon, styles and tracked problems live in the kb folder, and agents split the work: writer, critic, editor, continuity checker and reader simulator.
